The position

In Medical & Translational Science, the area of Obesity and Cardiometabolic Health is organized with several Medical & Science departments working on different development phases and molecules targeting obesity and cardiometabolic diseases. An open Director position is now available to lead one of these departments of skilled and specialized medical doctors focusing on late-stage development and submission activities.

The Director will be working closely with the other department and area heads to drive the area and projects forward. You will report to a Sr. Director of Medical & Science in the overall Obesity and Cardiometabolic Health area and be part of the leadership team in this area.

 

Your main responsibilities will be focused on:

  • Continuous development of team and team members
  • Performance management, task prioritization and scoping of Medical & Science related activities in accordance with business needs and approved project strategies and plans
  • Department budget and adherence to defined financial targets
  • Setting targets and initiating improvements in working procedures and quality
  • Maintaining and optimising processes and ensuring compliance of department and deliverables with external and internal requirements
  • Assisting in the scoping of clinical development projects by providing clinical perspective and medical guidance on benefits and risk
  • Driving the clinical development plans
  • Supporting other evidence generating activities to demonstrate clinical benefit of our products
  • Collaborating closely with other leaders in Medical & Translational Science and take an active part in developing the area

The position will require up to 5% travel. You should be willing to move to Denmark and work in an international arena. Novo Nordisk will support you and your family with the relocation.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • University degree as a Medical Doctor. Scientific training at PhD level or similar is an advantage
  • At least 5 years of documented experience within clinical drug development or people management experience
  • Ideally, expertise in clinical drug development within the incretin space as well as experience with developing clinical development plans
  • Excellent communicator and presenter with good command of written and spoken English

The Obesity and Cardiometabolic Health area 

The Obesity and Cardiometabolic Health area is part of the Novo Nordisk R&D organisation and built on Novo Nordisk’s proud history within cardiometabolic care to develop future treatment offerings for people living with obesity and associated comorbidities.

 

We lead the design of clinical development programs and plans for our assets, ranging from early stages to life-cycle management (including device and business development activities) and pioneer and oversee industry-leading trial programs and explore innovative and novel applications of our compounds and associated biology

 

The area is driven by curiosity and the desire to explore and expand the opportunities in clinical medicine, rooted in deep scientific and clinical understanding of human health and the diseases we treat.

 

What we offer

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800 to 1,448,700 DKK (DK), corresponding to the level of the position.

 

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
