About the department

Clinical Outsourcing Management supports Novo Nordisk’s Clinical Drug Development projects in driving and executing the clinical contracting process from request for information (RFI) to signed contract in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The department is responsible for supplier management within the clinical area and for securing a strong clinical sourcing infrastructure. Clinical Outsourcing Management is a part of Clinical Drug Development, where we are responsible for managing development worldwide from early clinical trials to product introduction.


You will be part of our Clinical Outsourcing Management team which consist of 12 dedicated colleagues where you will experience a high degree of individual responsibility in an engaging and professional environment.


The job

As an Outsourcing Manager you will be responsible for driving the clinical outsourcing process in close collaboration with our Clinical Drug Development project teams, Procurement, Legal and external suppliers. You will manage supplier relationships as well as supplier related risks and take part in integrating and updating the clinical outsourcing strategy in the development projects. You will be involved in qualification of suppliers and take part in the management and development of the global clinical outsourcing setup. You will act as a subject matter expert for clinical outsourcing of specific services. You will also be expected to take part in the management of strategically important supplier partnerships including driving supplier performance evaluation, supplier oversight councils as well as take responsibility for supplier escalation processes.


Day-to-day operation is a varied mix of above responsibilities and includes a high degree of interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.


As a part of Clinical Drug Development your main office will be at our site located in Søborg, Denmark, but you might experience some travel activity (once again applicable).


You will in addition be expected to engage in department development and optimization through innovative solution and help drive improvement.



You have at least five years’ experience from sourcing or procurement within the pharmaceutical or clinical research organisation industry. Preferably, you have an understanding of the clinical development disciplines as well as a strong track record of supplier interaction from request to signed contract.


You possess good supplier relationship management skills and you are used to collaborating with international and diverse professional groups, driven by a strong interest in the business perspective and have a commercial, analytical a pragmatic mind-set. You have a proven track record of handling complex tasks with multiple stakeholders. You possess excellent project management skills and work proactively with a can-do attitude. You have a quality mind-set with a strong focus on safeguarding internal and external outsourcing requirements.
