Your new role

As Global Project Director, you will co-chair the Semaglutide Diabetes Global Project Team (GPT) and be part of setting the direction for the lifecycle management (LCM) strategy for our semaglutide diabetes portfolio – products that continue to set new standards in diabetes treatment. With one of the most prescribed treatments in human history and a 16X blockbuster in the portfolio, your work will be instrumental in maximising the value of these groundbreaking assets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Co-chair the semaglutide Global Project Team (GPT) to set cross-functional strategic direction for our semaglutide diabetes projects
  • Lead high-complexity, high-impact strategy projects that span the entire value chain, in alignment with the semaglutide LCM strategy
  • Drive key strategic priorities from the GPT and other governance bodies to deliver on ambitious business goals
  • Define and deliver strategic analyses, business cases, and investment guidance that inform executive decision-making and shape where we focus our resources
  • Lead presentations to senior leadership, facilitating effective decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation
  • Build and maintain networks with key stakeholders across functions and geographies, proactively identifying who needs to be engaged to drive decisions forward
  • Take a leading role in project team development, coaching and sparring with team members and fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment that enhances knowledge sharing

 

Your new department

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness.

Within Product & Portfolio Strategy, you'll be part of the Semaglutide & Insulins Project team in the Diabetes& area, that sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. We work closely with stakeholders across the entire Novo Nordisk value chain – from Research & Development to International Operations – to ensure our most valuable assets reach their full potential. Your work will directly influence strategic decision-making at the executive level and shape the future direction of our diabetes portfolio.

 

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a strategic leader who thrives in complexity, excels in strategic project management, and has the ability to effectively collaborative across the value chain and set clear direction.

You'll bring with you:

  • A Master's degree combined with 8+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.  Strong knowledge of diabetes or cardiometabolic therapy areas would be advantageous.
  • Proven project management experience with top management involvement, demonstrating ability to drive strategic priorities with executive stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of working across the pharmaceutical value chain, with the ability to navigate complex cross-functional dependencies and drive alignment
  • Extensive experience in leading systematic problem-solving, including structuring ambiguous challenges, prioritising issues, and developing clear recommendations
  • Strong background in commercial functions (backgrounds in Research & Development are also welcome), with experience in product launch planning and execution, and development and execution of lifecycle management strategies
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across organisational and national borders, building consensus among diverse stakeholders
  • Very strong analytical and communication skills (both written and oral), including the ability to deliver clear, concise, and engaging presentations to senior leadership and facilitate workshops across cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
