The position
As the Global Pricing Associate Director in the Global Pricing unit your primary role will involve developing and executing pricing strategies for Novo Nordisk’s products, generating and providing pricing insights and decision recommendations to our leadership team and working closely with stakeholders across the value chain. Other key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development of pricing strategy, guidance, and forecasts within cardiovascular and other cardiometabolic diseases, ensuring timely delivery of impactful outcomes in alignment with key processes.
- Monitor and comprehend the pricing landscape in strategic markets, including international reference pricing (IRP), parallel trade, and loss of exclusivity (LoE) dynamics for key competitors.
- Develop strategy scenario planning for Novo Nordisk assets within the assigned therapy areas and across the portfolio, providing support and challenging pricing targets and negotiation strategies in strategic markets.
- Oversee the functioning of pricing systems and tools, driving proactive initiatives to enhance the company’s pricing infrastructure, ensuring organisational capability building to maximize the potential of these systems and tools while fostering continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver pricing insights through reports, tools/dashboards, newsletters, or similar means to inform strategies and enhance the organization's decision-making regarding drug development, investment decisions, launch strategies, and pricing business cases.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, the ideal person will possess a degree, preferably a master’s, in Economics, Health Economics, Business, Finance or similar. Other key skills and experiences required are as follows:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical pricing, market access or business analytics from an affiliate, regional, headquarter role, or from a management consultancy.
- A proven track record of setting and leading pricing strategy, guidance and forecasting within assigned areas.
- Thorough understanding of the pricing and market access landscape in major global markets.
- Analytical abilities to estimate price elasticities, assess willingness to pay, evaluate portfolio dynamics, estimate opportunity costs, and determine financial implications.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with professional fluency in both written and verbal English.

The Global Pricing function is crucial to the commercial success of products in the pharmaceutical industry. We are responsible for developing global pricing strategies for all our assets, providing insights and recommendations to senior management, and providing pricing guidance to the organisation to support drug development and commercialisation.
