Your new role
As a Medical Director, you will play a key role in shaping and executing critical Global Medical Affairs deliverables. You will provide timely, accurate, and credible scientific and medical guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will generate, interpret, and communicate scientific data to support the appropriate use of Novo Nordisk products and independently evaluate new findings for their clinical relevance and potential impact across the therapy area and portfolio. This is a global position with a strategic outlook and significant influence across the value chain.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a global subject matter expert (SME) of GMA obesity for products or projects, shaping the scientific narrative and contributing to the medical strategy.
  • Represent GMA obesity within sub-GPTs (Global Project Teams) and GPTs when needed, working closely with cross‑functional leadership to ensure alignment of GMA deliverables with overall project milestones and objectives.
  • Leading and managing cross-functional teams or working groups to influence cross‑functional strategic decision‑making and ensuring alignment of GMA deliverables with overall project milestones and objectives.
  • Engaging with, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with global and local Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and scientific experts, and translating their insights into actionable recommendations and strategic updates.
  • Mentoring, education of and knowledge-sharing with less experienced colleagues

This position is based in Denmark and includes international travel in accordance with Novo Nordisk’s Circular for Zero policies.

The GMA CagriSema Obesity team is part of the Obesity& area and is based in Søborg, Denmark — a multinational, high energy group that thrives on proactive collaboration and open communication, bringing an outgoing, can do attitude to both internal teamwork and external scientific engagement.

In GMA we build and deliver consistent, credible scientific communication across all stages of clinical development and commercialization. The team works closely with cross functional colleagues across Clinical Development, Regulatory, Safety, Marketing, Market Access and other HQ functions to develop and implement medical strategies that shape patient care.

The therapy area covers an exciting pipeline in obesity and related metabolic conditions, including late stage molecules aimed at weight management, comorbidity risk reduction and long term metabolic health. You will join a team that combines clinical excellence and innovative thinking to bring impactful therapies to patients worldwide.

 

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated individual with the following qualifications:

  • Medical degree (M.D.) with substantial clinical, drug development, and/or research expertise in obesity and/or cardiometabolic disease, and significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry from a global and/or regional role.
  • Substantial experience with strategic and scientific planning aspects of clinical trials and clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced proficiency in scientific concepts, modes of action, and interpretation of preclinical and clinical data
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and value chain.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional workstreams.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills; able to communicate complex topics clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive, action-oriented, and comfortable navigating a dynamic, project-oriented matrix environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 1,034,800.00 to 1,593,600.00, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
