Your new role

As Global Associate Patient Advocacy Director, you will be at the forefront of creating meaningful partnerships with patient organizations across priority therapy areas. Your work will directly address unmet needs and advance care and access to innovative medicines for people living with chronic diseases. This role combines strategic thinking with deep external engagement, requiring you to build advocacy ecosystems that are evidence-based, impactful and sustainable.

Day-to-day your tasks will include:

  • Building, maintaining and deepening collaborative relationships with key patient organizations, communities and patient advocates across priority therapy areas
  • Co-creating advocacy initiatives with external partners that address unmet patient needs, improve care pathways and strengthen patient voice
  • Establishing trusted partnership models grounded in patient insights that enable long-term value creation for both patient communities and Novo Nordisk
  • Monitoring and anticipating trends and emerging needs across the patient advocacy landscape and disease ecosystems
  • Representing Novo Nordisk in relevant fora, multi-stakeholder platforms or collaborative initiatives where patient engagement and advocacy are central
  • Driving new advocacy models in patient/consumer communities to address emerging treatment needs
  • Contributing to internal knowledge sharing on patient trends, stakeholder insights and advocacy best practices

 

Your new department

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximizing portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.

The Patient Experience and Advocacy department sits within Global Medical Affairs and drives Novo Nordisk's commitment to patient centricity, through embedding patient perspectives and insights across the value chain, from early research to market, and expanding access to innovation. The Patient Advocacy team focuses on building partnerships to support patient access and care pathway improvements and execute impact-driven advocacy initiatives globally. You will work closely with medical, operations and corporate affairs functions to ensure strategic anchoring of our advocacy approach.

 

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for an Associate Patient Advocacy Director who thrives on building authentic partnerships and translating patient needs into meaningful action. You wll bring with you:

  • 7+ years of experience within patient advocacy, health partnerships, public affairs or closely related functions within pharma, healthcare or related sectors, in-house or through consultancies
  • Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining strong partnerships with patient organizations or civil society actors across diverse therapeutic areas and geographies
  • Strategic, systems-level mindset to connect external patient needs with internal priorities and translate them into actionable advocacy plans
  • Ability to translate complex medical, scientific or system level topics into clear, patient relevant narratives and collaborative actions
  • Strong understanding of patient engagement, care pathways and the role of patient generated insights and evidence in shaping healthcare decisions
  • High level of integrity, patient centric mindset and strong understanding of compliance and ethical requirements governing patient engagement
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders at all levels
  • Agile, innovation-focused mindset, and experience working in a fast-paced global matrix environment
  • Fluency in English required; additional language skills are a plus

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000.00 to 1,245,100.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level,  location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
