Your new role

As Global Associate Medical Director, you'll be at the intersection of medical science and commercial strategy, translating complex clinical data into compelling narratives that drive product success. You'll work with a team of highly motivated Medical Doctors who are passionate about drug development, medical education, and scientific communication – all while using your analytical skills and creativity to advance innovative treatments for people living with cardiovascular disease.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a key driving force alongside commercial colleagues globally, engaging in Launch Activity Plans, Therapeutic Area Development Strategy, and Go-To-Market Strategy to make our future cardiovascular products a success
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Commercial, Market Access, Marketing, Clinical Development and other functional areas both at headquarters and globally
  • Engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in various settings, focusing on medical and scientific information to optimize product development and patient treatment
  • Providing medical input to clinical trial development, including investigator selection, and driving scientific dialogue based on trial results
  • Developing publications based on clinical trial results, requiring interaction with external authors, statisticians, medical writers, and stakeholders
  • Advising and driving the development of internal and external medical guidance and educational materials
  • Presenting data at internal forums and external conferences, supporting the Medical Director in strategic and leadership tasks

Your new department

The inflammation in CVD team sits within the overall CVD area in Global Medical Affairs, located in Søborg, Denmark. The cardiovascular areas consist of two teams: one covering inflammation in CVD and the other covering incretins in CVD and cardiomyopathy. We're responsible for building and delivering consistent scientific communication across all phases of clinical trials, while prioritizing engagement, mutual respect, and cultivating a positive, open atmosphere where learning and personal development thrive.

 

Your skills & qualifications

To be successful in this role, we're looking for someone who combines deep medical expertise with strategic leadership abilities.

You'll bring:

  • Medical degree with clinical and research experience, preferably within cardiovascular diseases
  • Specialist diploma in cardiology, internal medicine, or adjacent medical specialties (Ph.D. degree is considered a strong plus)
  • Previous pharmaceutical industry experience in medical affairs and/or experience in clinical medicine or research in cardiovascular diseases
  • A proven track record of leading cross-functional projects within late-stage Research & Development (clinical, medical, regulatory functions)
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with senior leaders, governance/steering committees, and academia
  • Fluent professional English with strong presentation skills
  • A result-driven, extroverted personality who excels in high-complexity environments with robust problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude
