Global Associate Director - Diabetes Strategic Marketing

Your new role
As Global Associate Director in the Type 2 Diabetes pipeline and pre-launch Strategic Marketing team you will be part of leading the strategic development of this groundbreaking therapy, working at the intersection of innovation, commercial strategy, and cross-functional collaboration with our colleagues in Obesity to establish Novo Nordisk as the leader in amylin-based therapies for Type 2 Diabetes.
Your key responsibilities and deliveries will be to:
- Set clear quantitative and qualitative ambition for the next asset in the Diabetes pipeline (currently in phase III) and KPIs to track based on numbers-driven opportunity sizing
- Define pre-launch asset positioning across NN portfolio (vs. current and future assets)
- Develop the core beliefs that guide the commercial strategies
- Develop overall launch framework and strategy supporting launch in US and large markets in international operations
- Be a standing member in our Core Brand Team (CBT, cross-functional group involving key markets) and driving meeting coordination with Obesity
- Support key governance interactions (incl. Senior management meetings)
- Ensure cross indication alignment and portfolio coherence through close collaboration with CagriSema Obesity colleagues
Your new department
You will be part of the Diabetes Strategic Marketing department within Diabetes GLP-1 Incretins Strategic Marketing. This is the core strategic commercial team working at the forefront of Novo Nordisk's innovation pipeline. You'll collaborate with a wide network of stakeholders across the organization, from Global Medical Affairs to Market Access, Commercial Planning, US Organisation, International Operations and our affiliate network. At Novo Nordisk, we are on a new and exciting journey to redefine Diabetes care through amylin-based innovation, and this role sits at the heart of that transformation.
Your skills & qualifications
We are seeking a strategic problem‑solver with an innovative, patient‑centric mindset and a portfolio focus. You take initiative on complex projects, build strategic networks across global and local teams, and manage stakeholders with clarity and confidence—especially senior leadership. You bring a strong business acumen, preferably in Type 2 Diabetes or cardiometabolic therapy areas.
Additionally, you will bring with you:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) and 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with early-stage asset or brand/marketing strategy experience.
- Strong strategic, analytical and portfolio management skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear commercial plans and long-term strategies.
- Proven ability to work across functions and geographies, navigate global governance processes, and build collaborative stakeholder relationships.
- Financial acumen with experience in budget planning
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required
