The position
You will contribute with your in-depth knowledge of Epidemiology, your analytical skills and project management experience to a team of epidemiologists that, together with data scientists and stakeholders from across the organisation, create actionable evidence from real-world data, providing epidemiological evidence to a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation. 

 

Our data comes from digital health initiatives through partnerships with medical technology companies, in-licensed databases of electronic medical records or health insurance claims, observational studies, and many other sources.

 

The location of the position can be in our offices either at Søborg, Denmark, or King’s Cross London, UK.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Coordinate and oversee outsourced real-world data activities including studies and rapid analytics working closely with different vendors and varying stakeholders
  • Conduct varied and diverse tasks within pharmaco- and classical epidemiology, including guidance on and contribution to study designs and analytical methods
  • Identify and determine efficient data collection approaches and data sources relevant for the questions being investigated
  • Design analyses that will be conducted in collaboration with data scientists based on the data from Novo Nordisk observational studies, in-licenced commercial data, or from external data sources
  • Perform and guide complex epidemiological activities and participate in working groups requiring pharmacoepidemiology expertise
  • Communicate your results and findings in a clear and convincing way both orally and in reports, as well as in peer reviewed scientific papers

 

Moreover, you will be part of setting direction for epidemiological activities in Novo Nordisk. You will be interacting with many stakeholders – either when communicating epidemiological considerations and results to internal stakeholders or through contact with research organisations, commercial partners and academic institutions involved in analysis of epidemiological data.

 

If you would like to maintain or develop your programming skills as an epidemiologist, you will be given the opportunity to execute insights and studies in R in collaboration with the department’s data scientists. 


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • MSc or PhD, or equivalent qualification with training in Epidemiology
  • Applied expertise in pharmacoepidemiologic research from the pharmaceutical, medical, or biological area
  • Solid hands-on experience with analytical epidemiological projects and real-world data
  • Proven project management experience working with external partners
  • Professional proficiency in English

About the department
In Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases to product launch and beyond. We provide medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and authorities while ensuring that the process lives up to global standards, regulations, and business ethics.

 

The department of Real World Evidence is part of Data Science in Development and located in Søborg, Denmark. The department focuses on rapid data insights using descriptive methods and causal relationships from real-world data through advanced statistical methods. We analyse many different data sources to generate evidence to support clinical drug development projects and launched products. You will be joining a diverse team of highly professional, engaged, and motivated data scientists and epidemiologists across sites in Denmark, UK, and New Jersy, USA.
