Your new role
As Director within Diagnostic Development, you will be instrumental in the build of the Diagnostic Department.
Your responsibilities include:
- Lead and drive the development of diagnostic solutions for clinical-stage projects with a clear understanding of commercial preparation and launch.
- Close collaboration with early- and late-stage cross-functional clinical development teams to integrate diagnostic planning and implementation with biomarker evaluation, investigational device validation, and performance evaluation in chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, rare diseases, cardiovascular disease, and Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams of translational medicine scientists, and regulatory, clinical, payer, and commercial specialists to bridge the clinical and commercial needs of the projects with diagnostic development through external partnerships or internal solutions.
Your new department
The Diagnostic Department is part of the Translational Biomarkers and Diagnostic area under Medical & Translation Science at Novo Nordisk.
As part of the corporate Strategy, the Diagnostic Department is central in creating the infrastructure and processes to enable diagnostic and companion diagnostic development across Novo Nordisk’s early- and late-stage clinical development portfolio. We are committed to building an innovative pipeline with a focus on increasing the probability of success by diagnostics implementation for the benefit of patients.
Your skills & qualifications
To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:
- PhD in natural science or MD combined with experience in pharma, diagnostic, contract labs, or the biotech industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in diagnostic development, investigational device management, and knowledge of diagnostic regulations.
- Proven track record in development of diagnostics and/or companion diagnostics during drug development lifecycle, preferably with special focus on late stage.
- Hands on experience with planning and/or interactions with commercialisation/post-market activities (payers, reimbursement, etc.) along with Life-cycle management planning and execution.
- A pioneering, curious attitude to develop differentiated diagnostic solutions to meet the unmet medical needs of future patients.
- Insights into the use of digital, imaging and AI algorithm devices would be an advantage.
- Ability to work in large cross-functional teams.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800 to 1,448,700 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
