At Novo Nordisk, we are strengthening our R&D IT compliance and validation capabilities and are looking for a Director, IT Compliance & Validation to provide strategic leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvement and simplification initiatives across our IT quality and compliance processes. 

 

Your new role

As Director, IT Compliance & Validation, you will be responsible for setting direction and ensuring effective governance of IT compliance and validation for R&D-related IT systems across the end-to-end R&D value chain. Along with your team of experienced and innovative IT compliance and validation professionals, you will: 

 

  • Define and own the IT compliance and validation strategy for R&D IT systems, covering non-GxP and GxP domains like clinical and regulatory systems 
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulations 
  • Lead and develop a specialist team within IT compliance and validation, as well as orchestrate the establishment of a broader community of similar capabilities globally across the R&D AI and Digital Innovation (ADI) domain 
  • Act as a senior advisor on matters related to IT compliance and validation towards R&D ADI leaders and Quality, with a keen understanding of R&D’s unique regulatory environment and AI ambitions 
  • Drive IT process improvement and simplification initiatives related to IT compliance, quality processes, and validation frameworks, as owner of local R&D IT processes in this domain 
  • Promote a risk-based, pragmatic approach to compliance aligned with an interactive and product-oriented IT delivery approach 
  • Ensure readiness for and manage internal and external audits and inspections 
  • Contribute to broader R&D Tech Delivery leadership discussions and decision-making 

 

Your new department

You will join Tech Delivery within R&D AI and Digital Innovation. ADI’s core mission is to speed up development, improve precision, and strengthen R&D by embedding AI, digital science, and data at the heart of drug discovery and development. This includes accelerating the pipeline through computational methods and digital innovation. 

By leveraging data and AI, we aim to quickly identify drug candidates, reduce development time and costs, and better serve patients in line with Novo Nordisk’s goals.

 

Your skills & qualifications 

  • Proven people leadership experience, including leading senior specialists 
  • Extensive experience in IT Compliance or Quality within GxP-regulated R&D or pharmaceutical environments 
  • Solid understanding of R&D processes and workflows and how IT systems support them 
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements impacting IT systems in R&D 
  • Experience with modern IT landscapes (cloud, SaaS, AI) in regulated contexts 
  • Result- and execution-focused with strong follow-through and delivery discipline 
  • Structured and systematic approach to planning, prioritisation, and governance 
  • Track record of driving improvement and simplification initiatives through local process ownership 
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at senior leadership level

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800.00 to 1,448,700.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
