The position
As a Decision Sciences Director, you will report to Senior Director, Decision Sciences in Novo Nordisk’s Data Science Orchestration, Evidence and Outreach (OrEO) organisation. As a member of the Decision Sciences Leadership Team, this role co-leads the development and execution of the global strategy for the Decision Science area, reflecting global stakeholder needs, internal and external business opportunities as well as corporate strategies and priorities – enabling high level of innovation, including transformative steps to optimize the value of the Novo Nordisk portfolio.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support the organisational development and business strategies of the Decision Sciences functional area. The functional area is scientifically and operationally responsible for the coordination and direction of all company collaborations / interactions across Data Science
- Ensure that outside-in views / ideas / proposals are evaluated and triaged for further prioritization and potential implementation within the Novo Nordisk Data Science “production” environment across Data Science
- Lead strategies and actions to ensure that we build external collaborations or partnerships with other pharma companies, leading tech companies / start-ups / and academic institutions that will enable scientific/therapeutic area leadership as well as novel business opportunities
- Build strong strategic partnerships with customers and stakeholders, internally as well as externally, to drive the agenda for use of advanced data science methods across the Novo Nordisk organisation
- Drive an agile and ambitious performance culture and ensure a clear understanding of performance requirements for all employees
- Drive decision-making using data analytics and tools to help prioritise partnerships and internal initiatives

Qualifications
To be a competitive candidate, you should have:
- A master’s degree in science in a relevant field, such as data science, life sciences, business administration, or a related discipline required (such as STEM)
- At least, 10 years of data science experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/related industry required and track record of external collaboration preferred
- Experience/insights in Analytics/Technology use cases across development an advantage
- Experience developing processes and frameworks to assess potential data science and analytics partnerships
- Significant experience within development of biopharmaceutical products with a strong track record in strategic work with data
As a professional, you have a strategic mindset and effective communication skills with a demonstrated ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape and ability to manage multiple vendors and projects simultaneously. In addition, you have the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams is a necessity.
About the department
Data Science in the global Development organization is responsible for all areas of clinical data capture, storage, analysis, modelling and simulation as well as the application of artificial intelligence/machine learning. The Data Science team is approximately 1100 collaborative, diverse and passionate people who have a true sense of pride in their work and are committed to helping others, grow and develop in their careers. Orchestration, Evidence and Outreach (OrEO) is a new area within Data Science in which we want to strengthen our external outreach focus. This role is part of the Decision Sciences area within DS OrEO focused on data-driven decision-making and insights, and works closely with stakeholders across DS.
