The position 
As an R&D Data Privacy Specialist, you will have a broad range of responsibilities across the organisation and engage with many different stakeholders local and globally. As proactive partners to our organization we expect you to effectively convey complex matters to a diverse group of stakeholders, in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand way. Additionally, work on both hands-on and at a more strategic level. 

 

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Provide advice and develop governance framework/guidance for our R&D organisation.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate personal data protection risks.
  • Drive Data Ethics and Data Privacy compliance initiatives, implementation, and coordination across business areas.
  • Develop training material and ensure clear communication.
  • Review of internal and external data privacy requirements and conduct impact assessments and risk reporting.
  • Take part in due diligence process for business development projects and integration of new entities to support compliance integration.

 
Furthermore, the role entails that you work closely with internal and external stakeholders globally and interact with senior management in different business functions.  This includes collaborating with Novo Nordisk Business Ethics Compliance Office, the Data Ethics & Privacy Advise team, Global Legal, and the entire R&D organization. 

 

Please note that this is a 12-month parental cover position.

 

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this position we would expect you to have:

  • A master’s degree in law or commercial law. 
  • At least 3-5 years of experience within data privacy compliance.
  • Experience with designing and building compliance governance framework and processes.
  • It will be an advantage if you have hands on experience working within an R&D setting or if you have a strong insight into R&D from either a pharmaceutical company, law firm, the public sector, or an NGO. 

 

At a personal level, you have the ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new situations in a constantly changing environment. You have strong analytic skills and structured in ways of working coupled with excellent communications and stakeholder management skills. Moreover, you have great collaboration skills to work within teams and across different functions and positively contribute to the work environment. Overall, you have a global and pro-active mindset and are a tech savvy and fluent in English.

 

About the department
In R&D Business Ethics & Data Privacy Compliance we work with Business & Data Ethics and Data Privacy. We are a team of dedicated specialists, who all share the passion for Business & Data Ethics and Data Privacy. 
We are responsible for governing and operationalising internal and external business & data ethics and data privacy requirements and support the global R&D organisation on how to mitigate compliance risks.
