The position

As the Corporate Vice President for Portfolio Strategy, Forecasting & Valuations, you will:

  • Drive portfolio strategy and management globally, working upstream with R&D (Research & Development) and Product supply organizations and downstream with operating units.
  • Serve all therapeutic areas and assets, working cross-functionally with the entire value chain.
  • Represent the team on governance bodies and steering committees, engaging with Senior Management at all levels.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, ensuring smooth collaboration and progress in portfolio development, valuation, and prioritization.
  • Utilize your expertise in quantitative and valuation functions to project cash flows, conduct sensitivity analyses, and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build and review robust, auditable financial models to support decision-making processes, including M&A and investments.
  • Lead and inspire a direct team of 4 leaders and a total of approximately 30 people, fostering collaboration and innovation across functions and geographies.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for an Executive with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of broad value chain experience (commercial, leadership, development) within a large international pharmaceutical company, including significant experience in strategy and brand management. Experience in business development and alliances for products in various phases of development.
  • Strong understanding of diverse therapeutic areas and of diverse markets, cultures, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure portfolio progress.
  • Expertise in quantitative and valuation functions. Familiarity with pricing strategies, sales channel strategies, and new product development.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience leading other leaders and at least 10 years of leadership experience in total. Experience heading teams and projects in a matrix organization.
  • Proven experience in global functions with strong cross-functional involvement.
  • Master’s degree in business, or science or equivalent combination of education and track record.

The department operates at the intersection of strategy, forecasting, and valuations, serving all therapeutic areas and working cross-functionally with the entire value chain. The atmosphere is fast-paced and collaborative, with a shared commitment to driving portfolio progress and delivering value to Novo Nordisk and the patients we serve.

The role is based in Denmark, reporting to the Senior Vice President for Portfolio Strategy, Insights & Access (PSIA), Yiannis Mallis. You will lead a dynamic and talented team of approximately 30 people.
