Compliance Specialist in R&D Business Ethics

We are seeking a talented individual to join our R&D Business Ethics & Data Privacy team, where we strive to uphold Business Ethics while supporting the exceptional R&D operations at Novo Nordisk. The Role
As an R&D Compliance Specialist you will have a broad range of responsibilities across the organisation and engage with many different stakeholders. You will be the subject matter expert for Business Ethics and Compliance when engaging healthcare professionals within the R&D organisation.
You need to be able to work both hands-on and at a more strategic level. You will work closely with the Novo Nordisk Business Ethics Compliance Office and the entire R&D organisation. Examples of tasks are:
- Provide advice on external support requests, interactions with healthcare professionals and healthcare organisation, conflicts of interests, communication with externals and other Business Ethics topics
- Develop framework/guidance for our R&D organisation
- Identify, assess and mitigate business ethics risks
- Drive Business Ethics compliance initiatives, implementation and coordination across business areas
- Develop training material and ensure clear communication
- Responsible for parts of the Business Ethics compliance support set-up in R&D
- Function as local business ethics compliance counsel for the R&D organisation (e.g. pre-approval of specific activities or engagement types, review compliance deviations, exemption requests, Compliance Hotline cases reporting and processing, etc.)
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders globally and interact with senior management in different business functions
The position is based in Denmark.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a relevant master’s degree (e.g. within business administration, law, commercial law, or any other relevant education) but most importantly is that you have worked with compliance/business ethics in a pharmaceutical and/or medical device company for minimum 5 years, combined with:
- The ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new situations in a changing environment.
- Proven project and change management skills
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to collaborate within the team and across different functions
- The ability to positively contribute to the work environment
- A global and pro-active mindset
- Tech savvy and fluent in English
About the Department
Our R&D Business Ethics & Data Privacy team is dedicated to overseeing business and data ethics as well as data privacy. Comprising specialists from diverse educational backgrounds, we are a dedicated team who are responsible for governing and operationalizing both internal and external requirements for business and data ethics, while providing guidance to the global R&D organization on managing compliance risks.
As a Compliance Specialist, your primary focus will be on business ethics, particularly in enhancing and securing compliance competencies, driving compliance initiatives throughout our global R&D organization and advising on complex matters as subject matter expert. We pride ourselves on being proactive partners to our organization, so strong analytical and communication skills are essential to convey complex topics clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
