We are now looking for a highly qualified individual to join our team of experienced business professionals working with commercial assessments of our portfolio of projects within cardiovascular disease and other serious chronic diseases. About the department
Commercial Planning CVD & OSCD is part of Commercial Planning within Commercial Business Development. Through our work with drug discovery projects in Research and Early Development and Global Projects Teams in Clinical Drug Development, we set the commercial direction for Novo Nordisk’s future drug portfolio. In CP CVD & OSCD, you will be joining 11 experienced business professionals like yourself. Together with our good colleagues across Commercial Planning, we are proud to be guiding the commercial success of the long-term future for Novo Nordisk.


As part of our responsibility, we assess the impact of competitor activities to Novo Nordisk, and we support corporate and brand strategies as well as R&D projects with analyses of the competitive environment within our core therapy areas. We monitor competitor activities of scientific and commercial nature and interact with a broad set of internal stakeholders across Marketing, R&D, Medical Affairs, Finance and Operations. We work with external partners to ensure we capture key trends and insights and we manage a comprehensive platform of competitive insights to support and impact decisions at project, portfolio and corporate levels.


The position
As our new Competitive Intelligence Lead, you will join the team of highly skilled and motivated professionals who are responsible for monitoring and providing insights on Novo Nordisk’s key competitors. You will contribute to the profile of the department and deliver well-structured analyses covering competition within cardiovascular disease and other serious chronic diseases such as kidney disease and neurodegenerative diseases. Your primary role will be to monitor, analyse and report on new activities and generate data-driven impact assessments and insights to support project decisions, strategy development and decision-making. You will participate in relevant project groups providing the external perspective to ensure competitiveness of Novo Nordisk’s portfolio of product offerings. You will participate in and report from relevant scientific congresses such as ESC, ACC, AHA, Kidney Week and CTAD.


On a daily basis, you will work with a diverse network of internal colleagues from Research & Development, Commercial Strategy, Global Evidence & Patient Access, Strategic Finance and Product Supply. You will work in a global context but interact primarily with headquarter functions. You will report to the Vice President of Commercial Planning CVD & OSCD. You should expect up to 20 travel days per year.


You are a team player and have a very high degree of flexibility and outstanding stakeholder management and presentation skills. The ideal candidate has experience from working within the fields of cardiovascular disease and kidney disease as well as a good understanding of the neurodegenerative field. You hold an academic degree in business or science, preferably at master’s level with a Ph.D. Experience from the pharmaceutical industry is necessary, preferably at least 3 years, and project management experience is a plus. You take a natural interest in the latest scientific and technological advances.


In this position you will work with all levels of the Novo Nordisk organisation and must have a clear understanding of the level of quality and commitment required to succeed and the drive to meet ambitious deadlines. As you will be working and communicating in an international environment, excellent English skills – both orally and written – are a requirement.
