As a Clinical Project Lead (CPL), you take on a senior role with extensive responsibilities. You will assume accountability for end-to-end planning, execution, and completion of global trials in Novo Nordisk.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the global cross-functional study teams driving the clinical trials successfully and collaborating with Novo Nordisk affiliates globally to accomplish our goals.
  • Ensure the trial team, which consists of a group of designated Global Trial Managers and Global Clinical Trial Administrators, is well-functioning.
  • Chair of the trial squad (a group of relevant stakeholders outside of Clinical Operations)
  • Be overall accountable for the studies and clinical activities.
  • Ensure that project key deliverables are met on time at a high quality and within budget by using your extensive project leadership, as well as your solid knowledge and experience with conducting clinical trials.

To succeed in this role, you need in-depth knowledge about clinical trial methodology as well as extensive clinical project management experience. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential, with a demonstrated ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape while impacting the project strategy as well as execution and improvement of core clinical processes.

The job is based in Søborg in Denmark but has a global scope. Some travelling may be part of the job.

 

Qualifications
You will be a great asset to our team because you have:

  • MSc in Natural, Health or Pharmaceutical Science with at least five years of relevant experience or BSc in Natural-, Health- or Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent with at least seven years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in all operational aspects of planning, conducting and finalisation of clinical trials from a cross-functional organisational work.
  • Demonstrate strong Project Management expertise.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Furthermore, you have demonstrated impact and influence in the execution and improvement of core clinical processes. You work independently with minimal guidance and has the ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape.

About the department

In Novo Nordisk, we are working within 5 areas:

 

Obesity, Liver Diseases & Devices: We drive obesity, liver diseases & device portfolio by developing new and better treatments for people with obesity and/or liver diseases and cover the device development. We are responsible for the establishment of medical and clinical strategies as well as for the execution of clinical trials within our area. We cover all phases (1-4) of the clinical trials including decentralized trials and pediatric studies.


Diabetes: Within Diabetes we drive clinical activities on new innovative treatments and marketed products. We cover phases from early phase 1 to global phase 3a programs with decentralized elements, and life cycle management activities including non-interventional/pragmatic studies to generate real world evidence data. 


CagriSema: To accelerate and expand the promising novel therapy CagriSema within obesity and diabetes, a dedicated area has been established as part of Clinical Drug Development. Here, you will help us deliver innovative medicines and drive improved patient outcomes as you take on responsibility for the planning and execution of global clinical trials in Phases 1-4. By contributing to our shared mindset of collaboration and curiosity, you bring innovation to our clinical trials and pave the way for the success of our mission.


OSCD & Outcomes: We drive the entire spectrum of clinical activities on new innovative treatments within the Cardiovascular diseases, Heart failure, chronic kidney diseases and Alzheimer disease portfolio from phase 1 trials to large phase 3a programs and phase 3b/4 life cycle management activities.


Rare Disease and Advanced Therapies: Novo Nordisk has for many years been pioneers in rare bleeding disorders (such as hemophilia), and rare endocrine disorders (such as growth hormone deficiency) and we keep expanding into more indications and new therapeutic areas. We currently have several ongoing Phase 1-4 trials within Rare Blood, Rare Bleeding and Rare Endocrine Disorders. We are also responsible for the clinical execution of the Novo Nordisk stem cell portfolio. Today we span over various technologies such as proteins, monoclonal antibodies, cells, and gene therapy.
