The position

As a Scientific Director you will be responsible for driving clinical pharmacology programmes supporting early to late-stage development projects within Diabetes.

 

Furthermore, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and setting the Clinical Pharmacology strategy for our projects.
  • Clinical pharmacology trial designs to support the strategy as well as interpretation and communication of trial results.
  • Driving and coordinating activities in the headquarter study groups and collaboration with our affiliates and external partners involved across the value chain.
  • Scientific communication and interactions with many internal and external global stakeholders and key opinion leaders.
  • Clinical pharmacology summaries of submission dossiers and interactions with Health Authorities to provide clinical pharmacology input to secure approvals of new drugs.
  • Represent Clinical Pharmacology in global project teams.
  • Support the development of Clinical Pharmacology competences by mentoring and sharing knowledge.

 

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, complemented by a Ph.D.
  • Preferably 9+ years’ experience within Clinical Pharmacology in pharma or biotech industry with a strong business and value chain understanding.
  • Previous experience with diabetes is strongly preferred.
  • Strong scientific and strategic mindset preferably with strong knowledge in both pharmacokinetic /pharmacodynamic relationships and submissions.
  • Proven track record in planning and conducting clinical trials and working in cross-functional teams in a global and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.

About the department

The Clinical Pharmacology department is responsible for development projects within the Diabetes portfolio. We are a department of dedicated and highly engaged colleagues working in a flexible, collaborative, and cross-functional setting.

 

Clinical Pharmacology plays a key role in the development of new drugs at Novo Nordisk. We work as an integrated part of development and research project teams, being responsible for the clinical pharmacology. We are scientifically responsible for the planning and oversight of Clinical Pharmacology trials. We provide clinical pharmacology expertise to all clinical development phases, Health Authority interactions, and regulatory submissions worldwide.
