The position

As a Clinical Pharmacology Scientific Director, you will lead clinical pharmacology programmes and drive the development of compound-specific, fit-for-purpose clinical pharmacology strategies from first-in-human to post-approval across multiple assets in our portfolio.

 

You will also be responsible for:

  • Representing Clinical Pharmacology in Global Project and Clinical Development Teams.
  • Designing clinical pharmacology trials and ensuring high-quality interpretation and communication of trial results, in close collaboration with junior colleagues.
  • Driving scientific communication and stakeholder engagement and influence across the organisation, as well as externally, including global key opinion leaders.
  • Preparing Clinical Pharmacology inputs for submission dossiers and contributing to interactions with Health Authorities to secure approvals for new drugs.
  • Actively challenging and improving our Clinical Pharmacology organisation through strategic input and identification of optimised ways of working. Developing junior colleagues through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

 

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:

  • A Master’s degree in Life Sciences, complemented by a PhD or equivalent.
  • Expert knowledge in Clinical Pharmacology with a proven track record in the pharma or biotech industry.
  • Strong scientific and strategic thinking, with a solid understanding of the end-to-end drug development value chain.
  • A broad understanding of clinical pharmacology strategies across multiple modalities and therapeutic areas. Experience with small molecules is an advantage.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and influence skills, including the ability to present complex scientific information clearly.
  • Proven ability to navigate complexity and operate independently, delivering high-quality scientific outcomes in dynamic environments.
  • Ownership of high-impact decisions, independence, strong quality mindset will be an asset, meeting deadlines, and display high integrity and accountability. You bring a patient-centric, innovative approach and strategic mindset, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment with high-performing colleagues.

 

About the department

You will join the Clinical Pharmacology organisation, which consists of six specialised Clinical Pharmacology departments as an integrated part of our Medical and Translational Sciences organisation. We are an organisation of dedicated and highly engaged colleagues working in a flexible, collaborative, and cross-functional environment.

Clinical Pharmacology plays a key role in the development of new drugs at Novo Nordisk—from first-in-human to post-approval. We deliver integrated clinical pharmacology strategies and expertise across modalities and development stages, and we support a wide range of activities, including Health Authority interactions and regulatory submissions worldwide.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800.00 to 1,448,700.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
