Your new role
As the Associate Enterprise Competitive Intelligence Director, you'll play a pivotal role in informing and driving the strategic direction of Novo Nordisk. Positioned at the epicenter of our evolving strategy, you'll translate competitive insights into clear, actionable intelligence that shapes decisions at the highest levels of our organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and overseeing broad analyses of the biopharmaceutical industry and key companies to validate hypotheses and drive corporate and business development strategy
  • Providing high-quality news monitoring and insights related to the competitive landscape and competitor strategies across our therapy areas
  • Formulating, developing and communicating insightful intelligence on competitive performance, portfolio developments and strategic moves to the executive team and across the organization
  • Playing an important role in the sourcing and evaluation of external partnership opportunities that align with our long-term goals
  • Traveling to medical and partnering conferences to maintain direct insight into industry developments

Your new department
Global Business Development is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s corporate business development activities related to establishing external partnerships, collaborations and acquisitions, as well as integration and alliance management. The Group Vice President (GVP) area consists of units covering business development end-to-end with Search, Evaluation & Intelligence, BD and M&A Transactions, Integration and Alliance Management.

 

Your skills & qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree required. Scientific background preferred  
  • 7+ years of relevant experience required. Experience in biopharmaceutical and/or financial services organisations preferred 
  • Strong analytical skills, and the ability to assess and credibly challenge data and concepts across a large span of content, often towards technical expert stakeholders, is critical  
  • Ability to lead analytical and strategic projects independently and in close cooperation with colleagues across Novo Nordisk to ensure a holistic strategic solution to often multifaceted business problems 
  • Direct accountability with a high degree of integrity and capable of providing high quality deliverables for projects of strategic importance, at times under considerable pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent collaboration and an ability to learn the Novo Nordisk business and organisation, as well as the general pharma/biotech industry, is preferred   

As a person you have high capacity for idea generation, hypothesis testing and problem solving, the ability to consolidate large amounts of complex information in a dynamic environment and to think outside the box to arrive at creative solutions. You have a demonstrated ability to present to, influence and build rapport with senior management.  

Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, including internationally is required.
