The position

As an associate Director in our team, you will be part of ensuring product development excellence through collaboration and support to the project organisation, the GPTs and governance (DPPComm, PDCouncil and RareD PDCouncil).

 

In this role you will be providing strategic challenge and support to development projects. This includes, but not limited to:

 

  • Providing sparring to PVPs, GPTs, and senior level colleagues in the preparation and use of the strategic Product Development Plans (PDPs) and the Global Project Framework (GPF).
  • You will help with identifying opportunities, industry trends and insights and provide recommendations using your proven portfolio or subject matter expertise.
  • You will be engaged in a wide range of governance related tasks as well as ad hoc project management activities in support of projects in addition to cross-portfolio projects.
  • You will have a broad variety of interactions with key senior stakeholders.  
  • As a member of our team, you will play a significant role in ensuring close integration and collaboration between the project organisation/GPTs and our governance boards.
  • You will be supporting the planning and execution of knowledge exchange sessions and training sessions in product development strategy and project management.

 

The position is office-based in Søborg, Denmark.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A master’s degree or higher academic degree in a relevant field (preferable science) in a relevant field combined with minimum of 5 years of drug development project management experience,
  • You have excellent project management skills and a proven track record of driving complex projects of a strategic nature within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong communication skills and are capability of effectively structuring highly complex material to allow easy decision making
  • Experience in creating and conducting training session and facilitating capability building
  • Experience in successfully collaborating with many different stakeholders across functions and at different organisational levels, including senior level management
  • Strong team player with a focus on supporting others.

 

Finally, you have a positive “can-do” attitude and thrive in a complex and dynamic environment. Your strong analytical skills and ability to quickly develop an understanding of complex projects and situations is required.

 

About the area
The Development EVP area is responsible for driving innovative pharmaceutical drug and device development worldwide from phase 1 to product launch, and to ensure continued development through life cycle management. We work in a project-centric organisation, where cross-functional Global Project Teams (GPTs) drive the development with a focus on delivering viable products that make a difference to patients and benefit society. Our area is a staff function to Development Management reporting to the Development Transformation & Insights CVP unit. It consists of professionals and specialists with backgrounds in science, business, and finance.

 

The Project Leadership Excellence team is responsible for strategic sparring and support to the Global Project Teams (GPTs) and to the Project Vice Presidents (PVPs) chairing the GPTs. As a team we drive cross-functional activities, such as organisational or process improvement projects to maximise the potential both within the EVP area as well as across EVP areas. We review and challenge development project strategic documents and plans, as well as promote knowledge sharing between projects and cross the value chain.
