Do you want to play a pivotal role in shaping how Artificial Intelligence is delivered across pharmaceutical R&D? We are looking for a senior AI Delivery Lead to orchestrate AI initiatives across a complex and fast‑moving landscape, ensuring strong delivery, alignment and impact across the R&D value chain.

 

Your new role

As Associate Director – AI Delivery Lead, you will act as a senior delivery and coordination anchor across multiple AI‑enabled products and initiatives within R&D. You will focus on delivery ownership, stakeholder alignment, operational excellence and clear communication—ensuring AI solutions are delivered coherently, on time and with visible value.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and coordinating AI delivery across a portfolio of products, ensuring progress, transparency and mitigation of risks
  • Driving cross‑product coordination and identifying synergies to mature and scale shared AI foundations
  • Translating complex AI initiatives into clear, executive‑ready communication and acting as an AI evangelist across R&D
  • Work with a broad set of domain experts and leaders that span scientists, data analysts, IT teams, medical experts, etc. to ensure seamless integration of AI tools into R&D value chain
  • Develop and implement communication strategies for AI projects
  • Ensure operational excellence in delivery of AI project & products
  • Manage and maintain external vendor and third-party relationships

 

You will report directly to the Director, Cognitive AI & Reasoning, who is based on the East coast in US. The role therefore requires flexibility working across time zones.

 

Your new department

You will join Cognitive AI & Reasoning, part of AI & Analytics within Research & Development. The team applies advanced AI, machine learning and reasoning techniques to some of the most complex challenges in pharmaceutical R&D, spanning early research through clinical development. The environment is highly technical and diverse, with colleagues across the US, Denmark and the UK.

 

In Research & Development, you’ll be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools, and human data to develop transformative therapies. Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs.

 

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you bring seniority, delivery experience and the ability to operate with impact in a complex matrix organisation. Moreover, in order to succeed, we expect you to have:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Life Sciences, Business Management, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience working with AI in a delivery, coordination or product context
  • Experience from pharma, healthcare or biotech is highly preferred
  • Strong track record of owning or coordinating delivery across multiple initiatives or products in complex regulated environments
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate nuanced AI topics into clear, compelling narratives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence operating with high visibility across senior stakeholder landscape

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000.00 to 1,245,100.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
