Do you want to shape the future of IT security in a cutting-edge global R&D environment? We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Associate Director within IT Security to drive alignment, strengthen security maturity, and protect highly sensitive data across a complex and evolving landscape. This is a high-impact role with strong visibility and the opportunity to influence both direction and decisions at senior levels.

 

Your new role

As Associate Director, you will act as the single point of contact for IT security within R&D, bridging business, IT, and security functions while driving strategic alignment across a global organisation.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assess and manage main IT security risks within R&D, ensuring alignment with R&D priorities and enterprise security objectives
  • Implement, and maintain security policies and procedures tailored to R&D requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents to minimise impact on R&D systems and data
  • Provide expert guidance on IT security best practices, fostering a culture of security awareness within R&D teams
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with emerging technologies utilised in R&D processes
  • Ensure robust data protection measures to safeguard sensitive R&D information from unauthorised access

 

Your new department

In Research & Development, you’ll be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools, and human data to develop transformative therapies. Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs.

You will join a highly complex and global R&D environment spanning multiple key locations including Denmark, the UK, the US, and China. The organisation works with highly sensitive data, including intellectual property and clinical data, while collaborating extensively with external partners such as universities, vendors, and industry peers.

 

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for a highly self-driven and resilient professional who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by creating impact.

 

To succeed in the role, we imagine you to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, while a Master’s degree and relevant certifications (e.g. CISM) are considered an advantage
  • Deep expertise within IT security, ideally from a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of risk management and enterprise-level IT environments
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and navigate complex organisational landscapes
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000.00 to 1,245,100.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
