Your impact begins here
Novo Nordisk has set the ambition to become the world’s most AI-driven healthcare company. P&PS is accelerating its AI agenda in support of that ambition.
As Associate Director, AI Strategy, you will define and drive the AI strategy for Product & Portfolio Strategy (P&PS) at Novo Nordisk. You will translate P&PS priorities and Enterprise AI direction into a focused AI agenda—shaping which opportunities to prioritise and where to direct investment for greatest business value.
Your work will connect AI ambition with disciplined execution—helping P&PS strengthen long-term portfolio competitiveness, sharpen global strategies and enable successful launches.
What you'll bring
• A Master's degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Digital, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and substantial relevant experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of experience in strategy, transformation, digital, AI, commercial innovation, management consulting or related roles, including material responsibility for complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience defining strategy and roadmaps, building investment cases, prioritising portfolios and translating emerging technology into measurable business outcomes.
• Experience operating with senior leaders in a global matrix organisation and influencing without direct authority across business, technology, risk and functional stakeholders.
• Strong AI fluency, including generative AI, agentic AI and responsible AI, as well as the capability, operating model and change considerations required to scale AI. You will not be expected to code or own engineering delivery but must be able to engage credibly with Enterprise AI and technical teams.
Useful:
• Experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare or another regulated industry.
Essential:
• Experience connecting functional AI strategy to enterprise direction.
• Familiarity with AI portfolio, value-realisation and responsible-AI governance practices.
What you'll do
You will be responsible for the P&PS AI strategy and portfolio, ensuring initiatives are coherent, scalable and positioned to deliver real business value — without owning individual solution design or technical delivery.

• Shape the P&PS AI operating model, including the intake, assessment and governance processes that enable transparent and disciplined portfolio management.
• Shape and govern the AI portfolio — including prioritisation criteria, investment recommendations, sequencing and scale/stop decisions — and prepare decision-ready recommendations for senior governance forums.
- Partner with Data Governance and Enterprise AI to ensure P&PS data strategy, data readiness, enterprise standards and technical dependencies are factored into portfolio decisions.
• Establish a disciplined value-realisation approach, from business-case development and success measures through portfolio performance reviews, challenging underperforming initiatives and recommending corrective action.
• Drive strategic alignment across P&PS, R&D, US and International Operations and Enterprise AI, connecting priorities, capabilities and dependencies to support a coherent AI direction across the organisation
• Lead executive communications and adoption strategy, building senior stakeholder commitment and AI literacy across P&PS.
• Shape strategic engagement with external partners and internal experts, using external insight to strengthen P&PS choices.
