AScience & Intelligence Director - Regulatory Affairs (Clinical)
Søborg, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Are you driven by turning regulatory science and intelligence into real strategic impact? As Science & Intelligence Director, you will shape how insights, evidence and foresight influence regulatory strategy, pipeline decisions and patient access across Novo Nordisk’s portfolio.
Your new role
As Science & Intelligence Director, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening regulatory science and intelligence as a strategic enabler across RQ&C, R&D and the wider enterprise. You will transform complex data, signals and trends into clear guidance that supports confident decision-making and accelerates development and approvals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining a robust intelligence framework that integrates internal clinical and regulatory data with external scientific and regulatory signals, translating them into actionable portfolio and project recommendations.
- Embedding regulatory science and therapeutic-area expertise through defined ways of working, strengthening risk assessment, evidence generation and submission readiness across the pipeline.
- Leading global regulatory and horizon scanning activities, assessing emerging guidance, legislation and competitor precedents to anticipate pathways, timelines and competitive implications.
- Evaluating novel regulatory-science approaches—such as innovative endpoints, real-world evidence, digital measures and trial designs—and converting them into concrete recommendations for development teams.
- Providing decision support to projects and governance forums through concise briefs, risk–opportunity assessments and clear strategic recommendations.
You will also represent Science & Intelligence in internal forums and cross-functional impact assessments, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Your new department
You will join the Science & Intelligence team within the Science, Policy & Intelligence area, part of Regulatory, Quality & Clinical Reporting (RQ&C). The team consists of six dedicated colleagues working at the intersection of regulatory science, policy, intelligence and strategy.
We operate in a highly collaborative, international environment, characterised by curiosity, trust and a strong ambition to continuously improve how regulatory insights drive business and patient impact.
Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for a strategic, analytically strong leader who thrives in complex, global environments. Ideally, you bring:
- An advanced scientific degree (PhD or PharmD preferred) with deep expertise in regulatory science and drug development.
- Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in global regulatory affairs and R&D, complemented by strong exposure to competitive or strategic intelligence.
- Proven ability to influence regulatory and portfolio decisions, preferably with experience as a regulatory decision-maker or senior strategic advisor.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, enabling you to translate complex topics into clear, compelling guidance across organisational levels.
- A collaborative, forward-looking mindset, with the ability to build strong networks and navigate international regulatory and cultural landscapes fluently in English.
- Experience within diabetes and obesity is a plus.
