Your new role
We are looking for a talented and experienced Publications Medical Writer to join Clinical Reporting, Cross Portfolio Content Excellence. In this permanent position, you will play a key role in developing high-quality scientific publications that communicate clinical research and real-world evidence findings to the global scientific community.
As a Publications Medical Writer, you will combine scientific expertise, project management capabilities, and stakeholder engagement skills to ensure the timely delivery of scientifically robust and impactful publication materials.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning, development, writing, and delivery of scientific publication documents, including manuscripts, congress abstracts, posters, presentations, and responses to external scientific enquiries.
- Acting as a publication project manager, coordinating activities across multidisciplinary teams and ensuring alignment with project timelines, publication plans, and business priorities.
- Advising project teams on publication strategy, scientific messaging, document requirements, and effective data presentation to maximise scientific impact.
- Collaborating with internal experts across Medical & Translational Science, Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Pharmacovigilance, and Regulatory functions to ensure accurate and scientifically sound communication.
- Partnering with external authors, principal investigators, and key opinion leaders to develop publication content that meets the highest standards of scientific excellence and compliance.
You will also contribute to process improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and the continuous strengthening of publication capabilities across Clinical Reporting. The position is office-based in Søborg, Denmark, and requires daily physical presence.
Your new department
You will become part of Clinical Reporting within the Medical Writing organisation at Novo Nordisk. This global function consists of approximately 160 Medical Writers who support clinical development programmes across multiple therapeutic areas.
Clinical Reporting is part of Development and works closely with Regulatory and Quality functions to ensure accurate, transparent, and meaningful communication of clinical trial results throughout the drug development lifecycle.
The Publications team plays a critical role in communicating scientific evidence to external audiences through peer-reviewed publications and scientific congress activities. By joining this team, you will have the opportunity to influence how important research findings are communicated to healthcare professionals, researchers, and the wider scientific community.

Your skills and qualifications
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
- A Master's degree within natural or health sciences (MSc, MSc Pharm, or equivalent), preferably combined with a PhD and/or relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of scientific research methodologies, including study design, data interpretation, statistical results, and scientific communication.
- Demonstrated experience authoring scientific publications, including multiple first-author publications in respected peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven ability to independently drive complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in a global environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
Furthermore, you possess a solid understanding of clinical drug development, publication standards, regulatory requirements, and scientific documentation. You are proactive, structured, and strategic in your approach to work and are recognised as a trusted partner who builds strong relationships and successfully navigates complex stakeholder landscapes.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 651,000.00 to 956,900.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
