In the Latin American region, we are currently looking for a Vice President for Clinical, Medical and Regulatory (CMR), who will be overall responsible for shaping the future of medical affairs in the region.

 

The Position

Based in São Paulo, Brazil, you will report directly to the Senior Vice President Region LATAM and lead an organisation of 6 direct reports. LATAM region comprises 6 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Panamá/ Central America) and you will be responsible for the regional medical affairs strategy, working in partnership with the affiliate’s leadership team, securing outstanding execution and positioning Novo Nordisk as preferred partner for key stakeholders regarding Diabetes, Rare Disease, Obesity, and new therapeutic areas such as NASH, Alzheimer and other.

 

As VP of CMR LATAM, you will be responsible for setting up an effective organisation where competences are optimally allocated to deliver on projects and actions. You will drive a leadership focus on both running and developing the business.

As main accountabilities, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Developing with the LATAM Management Leadership Team the mid- and short-term strategy, securing outstanding execution.
  • Establish Novo Nordisk as Diabetes, Rare Disease, Obesity, New Therapeutic Areas as market leader and preferred partner with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure high quality and timely execution of the main medical activities:
    • Local phase IV trials, registries, observational studies and ISS, RWE (Real World Evidence), RWD (Real World Data).
    • Medical events such as Advisory boards, symposium and close events.
    • Scientific publications and information delivered through the medical field network or by the medical advisors.
  • Drive all clinical, medical, regulatory and safety operations of the company in full compliance with corporate and legal requirements, this to support new business opportunities and strategic objectives considering short, medium and long-term local business’s needs.
  • Reinforce the medical voice of Novo Nordisk LATAM at both international and European levels and provide valuable inputs.
  • Ensure a close collaboration with Marketing & Sales teams, including the Market Access and Public Affairs departments.
  • Ensure a good mix of clinical trials ensuring high quality execution.
  • Manage the CMR area’s budget in compliance with Annual Budget meetings.

 

Qualifications

 

Outstanding Leadership and communication skills. You hold a Medical Doctor degree with strong scientific background in Diabetes, Rare Diseases, Obesity and New Therapeutic Areas/ NTA, being cardiovascular highly preferred. 10+ years of experience in successful project management and 5+ years in line management leading people and projects within pharmaceutical industry, including clinical trials and regulatory environment. International experience required as well as strong communication skills in English (verbally and in writing) will be a must.
