This exciting opportunity is for the role of Sr Business Development Manager, Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) based in Riyadh, Saudi, reporting to the Director of Rare Diseases Business Unit.

Your new role
You will be pivotal in cultivating strong internal and external relationships to advance patient care and positioning Novo Nordisk as a pioneer in the SCD therapy area through a comprehensive understanding of clinical care pathways, treatment landscapes, and strategic collaborations, in accordance with business ethics and compliance.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Drive Marketing Understanding: Map commercial opportunities and develop, implement, and execute SCD business development projects and tactics in line with Novo Nordisk’s SCD strategy, while upholding business ethics and compliance.
- Landscape Mapping: Prepare and deliver a comprehensive mapping of the SCD landscape in Saudi, including disease burden, clinical care pathways, treatment landscape, and business potential. Proactively scan the competitive and customer landscape to identify trends and develop initiatives aligned with these trends.
- Project Management and Resource Management: Develop detailed project plans, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure timely and on-budget delivery of key projects in collaboration with affiliates and the region. Define and manage SCD business development project needs and budget, including internal resource sourcing.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain close communication with external and internal stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions. Build systematic and strategic collaborations to ensure flawless project execution.
- Active Participation: Attend key internal and external SCD forums, business-related meetings, congresses, and symposiums. Ensure strong participation and preparation for key activities and business development initiatives driven by Novo Nordisk affiliates in Saudi
Your skills & qualifications
You need to have:
- Experience as a project lead driving complex projects where input and alignment are needed across multiple stakeholders, with excellent communication and presentation skills, having the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Education degree in pharmacy or medicine is a must.
- Formal management qualification as MBA or Certificate in project management is highly desirable.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in marketing/sales management, or project management within rare disease, and SCD.
- Proven successful track record in multinational pharmaceuticals.
- Project management and in depth understanding of Saudi market.
- Excellent stakeholder management, as well as strategic and analytical mindset
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
