The Position

As a Public Affairs Specialist, you will be responsible to support in developing and implementing public affairs strategies and activities to help maintain the company’s position in the market through partnering with governmental entities with a schedule of 50% office-based and 50% in the field.

 

You will have the following responsibilities:

• You will be supporting in planning and ensuring the execution of the affiliate’s Government relations and public affairs strategy and activities

• You will be managing numerous projects described in the Public Affairs Business Plan simultaneously

• You will be supporting in building strategic partnerships to develop and manage the execution of projects that meet stakeholder needs and those of Novo Nordisk

• You will be identifying cross-functional business gaps/opportunities and support in developing strategies to improve business and commercial objectives

• You will be preparing monthly Public Affairs updates for the line manager by monitoring media/policy space to provide input to relevant and suggesting subsequent action plans

 

Qualifications

As a Public Affairs Specialist, you need to have the ability to build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including those at the executive level. In addition, you need to have communication and project management skills in handling different projects in dealing with government entities.

 

To be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's degree with a business or medical background; Business postgraduate studies are a plus

• Minimum 1 years of experience in public affairs. Preferably in multinational and background in the healthcare industry, FMCG or big consutancy firms. 

• Experience in working on projects with governmental institutions

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Arabic

 

About the Department

The Market Access and Public Affairs (MAPA) function is very critical to short-term and strategic affiliate priorities. To keep the focus on those responsibilities, MAPA team members are leading the transformation initiatives and striving for cross-function execution excellence internally and in the field. The function covers pricing activities, key account management for private, Field market access, and public affairs.
