The Position
The Manager, Capability Enablement will support Novo Nordisk's strong commitment to its Customers (Patients, HCP, and Health Systems), by managing and deploying emerging technologies and capabilities that significantly enhance customer experience, operational efficiencies and innovative solutions serving the entire Commercial organization. Serving as the subject matter expert within the evolving data, digital and emerging capabilities sphere, this individual will act as a new solution enabler and project lead on across the organization supporting all innovative capability deployment efforts. Through this role, the Manager, Capability Enablement will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements for planning new digital or data-driven technology and capability roll out aligned to our capability roadmap. More specifically, this individual will be responsible for managing the build/functional requirements, testing and production of new capabilities using a test & learn approach, in support of all commercial functions and customer needs. This role is also responsible for change management and adoption of the new capabilities by internal stakeholders and agencies.
Relationships
Reports to the AD, Emerging Technologies & Capabilities; Provides direct support to the Commercial Operations team, HCP, Patient Marketing teams, Sales and Market Access. The position interacts with multiple NNI internal functions such as Marketing Operations, PSP, Brand Managers, Field Operations, Market Access Operations, Account and Sales Teams, IT, Procurement, Customer Call Center, Legal, Regulatory and Commercial Insights & Analytics, as well as external, operational vendors, and agencies.
Essential Functions
- Enables best-in-class capabilities and infrastructure for the execution of Commercial Operations new programs and processes through establishing solution requirements, test & learn, scalability approach, aligned to future capability roadmap
- Collaborates with CI&A to define and track measurements of success with each new capability enablement before scaling
- Recommends to the build of the new capability roadmap and alignment with leadership across the organization
- Partners with internal stakeholders and/or external vendors to drive change management activities of new capability deployment
- Partners closely with leadership across business units and functions to ensure that appropriate emerging capabilities are assessed and tested based on the agreed business initiatives and requirements
- Collaborates with the rest of Commercial Operations to manage the solution and resources associated with applications and technologies within the capability areas (i.e. connection between PRB platform and Content Management System)
- Identifies and addresses technology gaps in current capabilities that may impact the ability to meet the demands of the business units
- Maintains up-to date knowledge of a broad range of emerging technology trends and identifies opportunities where new technology might be deployed to deliver business improvements or competitive advantage
- Develops and manages new capability (digital or technology) deployment project plans and timelines
- Ensures full alignment across internal and external stakeholders and partners of what capabilities to prioritize
- Collaborates with Commercial Operations team members to co-create new solutions anchored in delivering on our business priorities
- Manages and oversees budgets at project level
- Demonstrates creativity and innovation in applying solutions for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder
- Promotes innovative mindset within the organization
- Leverages agile ways of working to identify new capabilities and deploys POCs to assess feasibility, viability and stability of the new capabilities
- Demonstrates a foundational knowledge of associated technical disciplines and uses high level of technical understanding to interpret technical issues for the business and sustain credibility with IT
- Demonstrates the ability to think critically, challenge conventional thinking and generate and apply unique business insight to create competitive advantage for the organization
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in applicable field or equivalent work experience required
- At least 6 years’ experience with design thinking, digital, commercial operations, consulting and/or other related roles required
- Strong market/customer centric vision and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry or related healthcare business models
- History enabling new capabilities (digital, AI/ML…) deployment and agile ways of working to test and learn prior to scaling
- Ability to evaluate new solutions and capabilities aligned to NNI business objectives, commercial operational and customer needs to create efficiencies or a competitive advantage
- Strong Microsoft Office suite abilities
- Requires experience developing complex business cases
- Requires a self-starter, highly organized, efficient, and capable of leading large meetings and driving them towards a common goal
- Ability to evaluate key business and product metrics to determine specific actions or service feature additions that would favorably impact key metrics
- Strong project management, problem solving and analytical thinking skills
- Requires experience of digital, data or other technology quality deployment; agile ways of working preferred
- Desired candidate has knowledge of standard and emerging technologies, platforms, support systems, processes, architectures, integrated dependencies, AI-ML related solutions etc.
- Proven ability to interface with people from various departments, positions and knowledge levels
