This role reports directly to the People & Organisation Director Novo Nordisk Czech Republic and the geographical scope of the role is Prague, Czech Republic.
The position
As a HR Business Partner at Novo Nordisk, you will partner with P&O Director and key people managers by developing human resource management strategies and policies to meet business needs; planning, administering and reviewing activities concerned with recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, mobility, talent acquisition, diversity, talent management & organization development.
You will be involved in identification and development of critical employees’ capabilities and competences to outperform our competition end ensure that business objectives are met.
The role is combined with HR administration management as you will be together with a second team-mate HRBP forming a team of two HRBPs supporting the whole affiliate of 120+ employees in the Czech Republic. Each of HRBPs will be assigned to relevant departments, so there will be provided tailor-made customer service fitting the specific departmental needs.
Your Main Accountabilities will be:
- Implementing the organisation’s human resource strategy so that the organisation attracts, manages, develops and retains the employees it needs to achieve its current and future strategies.
- Delivering a variety of HR related programs to ensure that the organisation’s current and future human resource requirements are met and that employees are recruited, managed, organised, trained, evaluated and rewarded in accordance with organisation’s human resource strategy.
- Ensuring that employee life cycle related processes are delivered in the most effective way and in very close cooperation with all relevant stakeholders to drive the high level of employees’ engagement and well-being, but also to fully utilized organisation potential. Innovative approaches and processes improvements are expected to increase efficiency and focus on simplifications.
- Accountable for several teams and/or departments, this will include HR Partner roles as well as responsibilities outside HR (i.e. communication related to employer branding). Acting as sparring partner and trusted advisor to middle management, but also act as a change champion, facilitator, coach, internal trainer, internal communicator depending on the needs and level of competency. Serving as an advisory point to all HR related topics with interactions of all internal Centres of Excellence, mastering AskHR platform to assist Line Managers and employees with tasks related to HR data or processes.
- Supervising the local HR amin and payroll related processes, ensuring compliance with local labour law and implementing related legislation changes to internal guidance.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you need to have University Degree in Management, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field, and minimum 4 years of experience in human resources, with broad knowledge of all HR disciplines.

- Ability to understand the implications of business challenges and translate them into HR focus areas and initiatives.
- Demonstrated, measurable improvements in staffing, talent management and compensation & benefits.
- Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.
- Strategic as well as analytical mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with stakeholders at different levels.
- Proven ability to work with leaders to influence change. Strong change management experience.
- A "can-do" mindset, with the ability to balance people and business objectives.
- Mastering local labour law requirements and implementation to internal procedures.
- Fluent Czech and English language.
