The Position
Join us at the forefront of innovation as an TA Performance & Insights Integration Lead in our Commercial Strategy and Marketing team. This TA Performance & Insights Integration Lead is pivotal in establishing the marketing analytics strategy and priorities within the Commercial Strategy and Marketing, driving strategic alignment, and elevating the presence and value of marketing analytics across the organization.
As a pivotal link between Marketing and other NNI commercial functions, you will spearhead the development of marketing analytics strategy and institute a modern marketing performance measurement program that not only aligns with but also amplifies our business objectives. This work will be done in close collaboration with the commercial insights & analytics.
In this role, you will champion the integration of cutting-edge analytics across the organization, orchestrating the integrated insights team at various levels as well. Your efforts will directly influence key decision-making processes, empower marketers, elevate experimentation as a means of growth and drive significant business outcomes, making this position essential to our company's growth and success in a competitive marketplace.
Relationships
Reports to Head of Commercial Excellence & Innovation. Collaborates with Commercial Insights & Analytics, applied behavioral science & experimentation, therapy area marketing teams among others to craft narrative and orchestrate insights gathering. The commercial insights partner is a people leader role and will eventually have direct reports potentially inclusive of Therapy Area Insights Partners.
Essential Functions
- Business Transformation: Drive movement towards data-based insights within marketing to accelerate the realization of value across therapy areas and anchor in outcomes versus outputs. Ensure measures are being tracked consistently and in a standardized method across the full funnel including leading and lagging indicators and across all aspects of business (i.e., operations, engagement, experience, customer and financial). Define best practices and success metrics for commercial insights
- Business Performance Management: Develop the rhythm of the business and key strategic focus areas of commercial insights. Develop scorecards, TA health checks, optimization reports, and methods for KPI reporting and tracking other strategic insights. Prioritize opportunities depending on business needs
- Business Operations: Accountable for ensuring that the right processes and optimizations are occurring across therapy areas and are in alignment to business objectives. Provide rigor around the data processes ensuring that data needed for analytics initiatives is available
- Strategy and Optimization: Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing data-driven recommendations to inform business decisions. Collaborate with marketing teams to optimize campaign performance based on data insights. Support the development and refinement of marketing strategies through data-driven recommendations. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, providing feedback for continuous improvement
- Data Analysis and Insights Generation: Apply advanced analytics and data science techniques to analyze large, complex data sets from various sources. Use statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics to uncover trends and generate insights and opportunities for optimization with support of commercial insights partners
- Data Driven Recommendations: Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for marketing strategies and business growth. Develop compelling narratives and data stories to communicate findings to a variety of stakeholders and to support strategic marketing decisions
- Reporting and Visualization: Develop dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as TA health checks and launch scorecards. Utilize data visualization tools to present insights in an accessible and impactful manner. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in reporting and analysis
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, product, and executive teams to align insights with business objectives. Facilitate collaboration among data scientists, analysts, and marketing professionals
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate the insights team to ensure cohesive and comprehensive analysis. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their analytical skills and data literacy
- Data Literacy and Capability Building: Support capability development across the organization by educating and empowering team members to understand and leverage data effectively. Serve as a data literacy coach by conducting workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching to build data capabilities across the organization
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve data analysis processes and methodologies. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and marketing analytics
- People Development and Coaching: Responsible for setting and communicating clear individualized role expectations for each report based on position, skills, talents, and objectives. Ensure that reporting personnel have strengths-based individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business. Provide regular coaching of reports that prioritizes appropriate challenging, development, feedback, regular recognition, and support
Physical Requirements
Approximately 20-30% overnight travel.
Development of People
Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.
Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field
- 12+ years of experience in data analysis, marketing analytics, or a related field in pharma
- Extensive experience leading commercial insights and analytics teams is preferred
- Proven track record of translating data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights clearly to a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferred (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms preferred (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, CRM systems)
- Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques, such as machine learning and predictive modeling
- Experience in promoting data literacy and capability building is desirable
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry preferred
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Experience managing and collaborating with external partners
- Experience leading and implementing organizational change and transformation initiatives

- People management experience required, with a proven track record of development and coaching
