The Position

As a member of the Field Strategy and Insights team, the primary purpose of this role is to support the design and implementation of the analytical process that drives the field force sizing and bag structure process across the organization including Diabetes, Obesity, Educators, Rare Disease, CV, Other Future Commercial Sales Forces & Market Access incorporating cross functional input from both field and home office functions such as Sales, Marketing, HR, etc. In addition, he/she will support day-to-day activities of key sales force strategic projects, including targeting approach, call plan development, sampling strategy, pilot execution and other key initiatives. In this role, the Manager will need to apply strategic and analytical problem-solving skills to ensure alignment across all stakeholders. This role will include collaboration with marketing, field, and key cross-functional teams in developing a strategic vision via in-depth market and brand-specific analyses. Synthesize and simplify information to ensure timely decision making and develop innovative solutions to unstructured problems with minimal guidance.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Field Strategy and Insights Leader. Primary internal relationships are within Field Force Effectiveness, field sales management (primarily Area VPs, Region Business Directors), Field Systems and Data, Sales Force Execution & Operations, Marketing, and Information Technology. External relationships include interaction with data and analytics vendors, as needed to manage projects and resolve issues.

 

Essential Functions

  • Support Annual Field Force Sizing & Structure:
    • Act as an internal consultant to support field force size and structure projects across NNI Commercial field-based teams.  Develop single brand optimization with brand teams incorporating CI and expected market events.  Ensure sizing incorporates input from marketing strategy (for relevant teams), identified targets and key NNI objectives.  Working across all Commercial field-based teams with internal feedback, develop recommendations on optimal field force sizes for Executive Team Review and approval
    • Throughout the year, will support running various bag structure scenarios for field sales to optimize effort on key brands
    • Support all major and minor commercial field force alignment and expansion projects.  Leverage work completed in field force sizing to deploy personnel
    • Ensures organizational alignment on upcoming pipeline development and salesforce needs as it relates to deployment
    • Enables cross-functional sharing of best practices in Field Resource Planning
    • Help Drive the organizational alignment on future field force structure decisions
  • Operations and Logistics:
    • Responsible for the scheduling of key meetings and deliverables to ensure optimal completion of project milestones
    • Work closely with project team and stakeholders to ensure that future risks and opportunities are included for consideration in project deliverables
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Proactively work with vendor(s) and project team to ensure alignment on direction and demands of sizing project
    • Collaborate with Enterprise Strategy, Market Intelligence, Medical, and others to maintain a tracker for NNI Current & Future Brand events as well as other relevant market events that may impact NNI brands/markets
    • Partner with Sales and Marketing Leadership to help inform the Annual Size and Structure project
  • Leadership and Development:
    • Champion the Triple Bottom Line in Primary Market Research, Secondary Analytics and internal strategy consulting
    • Ensure alignment of initiatives to company’s overall vision aligned to the business strategic focus areas and departments goals
    • Advocate and be a champion of our team, business partners and customers, demonstrate inherent interest in people, intense curiosity to decipher and understand data, human behavior and desire to drive insights into action
    • Works well under pressure, with initiative to take on unfamiliar tasks

 

Physical Requirements

10-20% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of 6 years of related strategic and analytical experience required in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong writing and presentation skills required
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, project management and analytical skills required
  • Experience with pharmaceutical data, specifically Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, DDD and charge back data is preferred
  • Experience as a Project Leader responsible for complex project where input and alignment are needed across multiple stakeholders
  • Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably
  • Customer focused with excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels within organization
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in analytics tools, such as Excel, Access, necessary

 

 

The base compensation range for this position is $ 120,300 to $ 222,600. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
