The Position
The Senior Manager – Market Access & Public Affairs (MAPA) Analytics works with the Senior Director Planning Execution & Operations (PE&O) to ensure the team has access to the tools, data and insights necessary to execute on the most critical business objectives. They are responsible for securing and providing the team with access/training to the most relevant market access related systems and data-sets for NNI's in-line and pipeline therapy areas. Their team partners cross-functionally with other analytics teams to actively monitor the landscape for the most critical insights and trends impacting our business. Similarly, they engage regularly with MAPA leadership to support ad-hoc data requests and address outstanding questions concerning the formulary placement and performance of NNI's products.
Relationships
Reports directly to the Associate Director Planning and Operations. Responsible for ensuring MAPA Teams have access to relevant third party data sources, internal systems and relevant insights to the key challenges impacting our business. Works closely with all MAPA Teams, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Commercial Strategy and Marketing, Medical, CI&A and other relevant stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Reource Management:
- Empower MAPA with the tools necessary to analyze key trends impacting sales and market share of our growth brands
- Manage MAPA’s budget and subscriptions for all third-party data sources to ensure the department has access to the most relevant information available across both inline and pipeline therapy areas
- Business Accumen:
- Partner with Employee Experience to ensure all internal and field-based MAPA employees are competent with regard to the application of NNI systems, data and dashboards
- Insights & Analytics:
- Liaison with CMR, Commercial Insights & Analytics and PCOR teams to identify market and customer scenarios expected to have a high impact on NNI business
- Scan the market to understand key trends impacting markets and customers and supply relevant data to support the implementation of field-based tactics to better position NNI’s products
- Support ad-hoc analysis and data requests for MAPA leadership team; maintain quarterly analytics dashboard
- Partner with MAPA functional needs to execute situation analysis and business reviews as needed throughout the MAPA business planning cycle
- Business Assurance:
- Continually evaluate the application of new technologies (including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence and Chat GPT) to MAPA’s processes to identify opportunities to streamline process and reduce redundancies
- Partner with MAPA functional leads to identify opportunities to offshore consistent processes or data analytics where Global Business Support services could take on responsibilities and generate bandwidth for the team
- Other:
- Manages critical projects for the Sr. Director, PE&O to drive operational efficiencies and systems/process development, and manage and lead cross-functional groups to achieve pre-defined KPIs
- Develops and prepares executive level content for the Sr. Director, PE&O to aid in Departmental projects and output, and LT and ET content
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Finance, Business, Statistics, Engineering or related quantitative field preferred
- A Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) is preferred
- A minimum of 8 years managed markets analytics/research experience is required; an advanced degree can be substituted for 2 years’ experience
- Demonstrated experience utilizing IQVIA LAAD to deliver actionable managed markets insights is required
- Analytical and/or technical proficiency at analyzing large data sets to derive insights
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, environment, with a quality control focus and a documentation orientation
- Creative problem-solving with ability to solve complex unstructured problems; see opportunities through
- Experience analyzing pharmaceutical data, specifically Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, data is required. Experience with data visualization (i.e. Tableau) tools preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Market research experience a plus
The base compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $222,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
