The Position

The Senior Manager - Strategic Partnerships, Consumer & Patient Engagement plays a critical role identifying, structuring, and scaling high-impact partnerships to advance Novo Nordisk's digital innovation and consumer engagement strategy. This role sits at the intersection of business development, digital health, and consumer experience, owning key partnerships end-to-end, and flexing both analytical and creative thinking to connect strategic priorities with external opportunities. This role operates with great autonomy and strategic responsibility, leading partnership development and shaping opportunity areas, while driving measurable business and patient impact.

Relationships

The role will have to work across the enterprise and provide a holistic perspective to enterprise digital transformation and opportunities for driving integration across the healthcare ecosystem. Primary internal stakeholders include senior leaders from Marketing/Commercial, MAPA, legal & compliance, and IT in addition to external ecosystem players.

 

Essential Functions

  • Partnership sourcing & opportunity development:
    • Collaborate with the business units to identify their business priorities and needs
    • Proactively identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities across digital health, consumer plat-forms, and healthcare ecosystems
    • Translate business needs into partnership theses and opportunity areas
    • Conduct market scans and landscape assessments to identify high-potential partners
    • Develop clear value propositions and strategic rationale for partnerships
    • Attend and represent Novo Nordisk in tech and health tech events and conferences
  • Deal structuring & execution:
    • Lead end-to-end partnership execution, including: initial outreach and partner engagement, opportunity shaping and solution design, commercial structuring and negotiation, contracting in partner-ship with legal/compliance
    • Build business cases, success metrics, and financial models
    • Ensure partnership are structured for scalability and long-term value
  • Partnership Management & growth:
    • Serve as primary relationship owner for key external partners
    • Drive ongoing performance, optimization, and expansion of partnerships
    • Identify opportunities to scale, extend, or evolve partnerships over time
    • Ensure alignment between partner activities and internal business priorities
  • Cross-functional leadership:
    • Lead cross-functional teams across marketing, medical, digital & IT, legal, and market access
    • Align stakeholders around partnership goals, timelines, and success metrics
    • Navigate ambiguity and resolve blockers to ensure successful execution
    • Act as the central point of coordination across multiple initiatives
  • Digital health & consumer innovation:
    • Contribute to the development of innovative partnership models, including: direct-to-consumer engagement models, digital therapeutics and companion solutions, API-enabed and platform-based integrations
    • Support piloting and scaling of new partnership-driven solutions
  • Strategic contribution & internal influence:
    • Provide input into broader partnership and digital innovation strategy
    • Bring external insights on consumer behavior, digital trends, and emerging technologies into internal decision-making
    • Influence prioritization of partnership opportunities and investments
    • Act as a thought partner to internal stakeholders and leadership

 

Physical Requirements

20-30% overnight travel, including limited international travel.

 

Qualifications

  • Education Level:
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters Preferred
    • Degree in Business, Innovation, Engineering, Product development or other relevant specialty
  • Experience Level:
    • A minimum or 7 years of experience in strategic partnerships, corporate business development, digital health strategy or similar required.
      •  Experience working in venture capital, and/or growth stage start up would be a plus.   
  • Specific personal or technical job skills include:
    • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
    • Track record in strategic partnerships and eight-figure value creation
    • Previous responsibility of partnership performance metrics and budget
    • Ability to operate independently and manage ambiguity
    • Strategic thinking with strong execution orientation
    • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
    • Understanding of digital health and/or consumer engagement ecosystems

 

 

The base compensation range for this position is $120,300 to $222,600. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
