This position is located in Plainsboro, New Jersey and follows all Novo Nordisk Inc. guidance for remote/in office dedicated time. EST time zone hours.
The Position
The Senior Manager, Product Security and Risk Management is responsible for managing US related product security activities to prevent, detect and respond to issues involving counterfeit, illicit trade / diversion and theft of Novo Nordisk products.
Relationship
Reports to the Director, Risk Management with a dotted line reporting to the Head of Global Product Security. This role interacts and collaborates with a number of various internal and external stakeholder groups. Works closely with Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory, Patient Safety, Product Supply, Communications, Global Product Security and Regional Security Advisors, as well as external logistics providers and law enforcement agencies.
Essential Functions
- Conduct market analysis and controlled test purchases to identify product and brand protection risks and perform risk assessments to determine effective investigation and risk mitigation strategies
- Manage counterfeit, illicit trade / diversion and product theft investigations within the US to identify, prevent and disrupt significant illegal activities
- Closely collaborate with and support Global Security on US portion of global investigations, as well as with the implementation of global security procedures, systems and tools in the US
- Coordinate, and participate in, complex investigations with internal stakeholders, State and Federal Law Enforcement and Global Regional Security Advisors
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to external stakeholders for Novo Nordisk products and supply chain operations
- Report and update local product security activities and incidents in global security case management system
- Supply Chain security – manage cargo security vendor(s) and applicable internal stakeholders. Support warehouse security activities
- Lead and/or participate in Local Product Protection Forum (LPPF)
- Develop internal awareness to encourage active product security reporting and ensure LPPF efficiency
- Develop external stakeholder engagement through law enforcement awareness activities, as well as Healthcare Provider (HCP) and patient awareness initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and industry peers as relevant
- Support DSCSA compliance efforts and participate in applicable product-related working groups
- Support local and global security efforts with employee safety and security through assistance with emergency response and crisis management activities
- Conduct additional product security-related activities as requested by Director, Risk Management
Physical Requirements
5-15% overnight travel may be required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree is required
- A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in Corporate Security, Law Enforcement, or related field. Advanced degree in applicable discipline may be substituted for 2 years' experience
- Proven track record in corporate product security and investigations
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
- Pharmaceutical or related industry experience is preferred
- Knowledge of global supply chain structure and operations
- Proven stakeholder management capabilities and demonstrated ability to collaborate across a diverse range of individuals and business functions
