The Position

The Finance Business Partner is the main financial partner for one or more therapeutic areas. The Finance BP is supporting evidence-based decision making based on solid financial planning and analysis to help drive business performance. The Finance BP is a member of the business unit leadership team and most ensure to support and challenge in line with NNI’s strategy, opportunities, and risks. The Finance BP is responsible for the individual and consolidated P&Ls for the supported areas, and serves a central role in liaising between Finance, Commercial Analytics and Insights, Pricing & Contracting as well as Strategy. As such, the Finance BP must ensure close collaboration with the respective commercial functions, strategic support teams in NNI as well as with global functions. The Finance BP is accountable for participating and taking a leading role in multiple cross functional relationships & initiatives to ensure effective resource allocation and delivery of all functional and departmental milestones including providing input to the strategy and direction for financial performance at NNI.

 

Relationships

This position reports to the Director of NNI Commercial Business Partners. The position is required to regularly present to and interact with ET or LT level management of multiple functions.

 

Essential Functions

  • Overall responsible for the financial management and business partnering for relevant therapeutic areas. This includes ownership of cost management and resource allocation during budget cycles, on-going operations/reporting and for strategic projects and changes
  • Routinely communicates financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics. Brings recommendations and strategic implications to leaders in the therapeutic areas as well as NNI ET level and HQ
  • Sets direction and leads the business unit’s planning process. Together with business unit leaders and cross-functional teams must understand and incorporate demand trends, business risks and opportunities into financial forecasts & performance
  • Support the Business Unit brand strategy and tactical process with financial analysis as well as liaise with business development on strategic business cases. A key part of this entails supporting the organization in the right allocation of resources to support the enterprise strategy and brand tactical plans
  • Serve as business consultant for the therapeutic areas and drives key projects and analysis to help integrate new therapy areas into the business operations
  • Drives close cross-functional collaboration, and alignment of priorities, within NNI and towards the broader NN organization including IO and HQ. Must establish and maintain close connections to both NNI and global stakeholders
  • Drives Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency in relation to own and related business process. Continuously evaluate opportunities to optimize in order to deliver the results in the most effective way

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree within Finance, Business Administration or similar required and MBA preferred
  • 7+ in financial management/partnering, project management, business development and/or management consulting preferably from pharmaceutical industry or minimum 6 years of experience with a specialized degree / certification (MBA / CPA)
  • Strong focus on process management, optimization, and structured workflows with high level of proactivity, energy, and ability to drive and complete projects. Must utilize time effectively and set priorities to manage multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders across the organization. Must be able to understand and define stakeholder needs and translate these needs into clear actions by also utilizing strong understanding of the market
  • Ambitious mindset with a continuous improvement approach and a desire to simplify the way we operate and generate new ideas. Strong ability to condense complicated data to key messages and recommendations
  • High level of independence, integrity, and accountability

 

 

The base compensation range for this position is $120,300 to $222,600. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
