The Position

Provides technical and analytical support to the NA Benefits function. Supports response to and resolution of benefit escalations. Analyses trends and vendor performance against agreed upon standards. Assists with benefits funding, annual enrolment and onboarding processes. Documents current processes and identifies opportunities for improvement. Supports evaluation of new benefit programs, vendors and systems.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Associate Director, North America Benefits. Interacts with all levels of the HR community as other internal departments such as Ask HR, Payroll and Finance. External relationships include: Novo Nordisk vendors and consultants.

 

Essential Functions

  • Point of contact for the day-to-day operations of benefit programs; manages escalated benefit inquiries with applicable vendors, includes investigation, root cause analysis and resolution
  • Measures benefit vendor services and activities against contract and performance measurements; perform audits, identify trends and develops corrective action plans
  • Documents current benefit related processes and develops working instructions as needed.  Includes, but not limited to transmission of eligibility information to benefit vendors (including executives); transmission of benefit deduction data to Payroll; onboarding and offboarding benefits processes (including executives); leave of absence process from initiation of a request for leave through return to work
  • Helps identify benefit process improvement opportunities.  Challenges the status quo
  • Supports NA Associate Benefits Director in evaluation of existing and new benefit platforms and outsourced benefit administrators; supports implementation as applicable
  • Supports benefits annual enrolment and onboarding processes.  Helps identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Assists with timely funding of various programs. Works closely with vendors and Payroll to ensure accuracy and explanation of any variances/adjustments
  • Helps ensure benefit plan compliance with government regulations
  • Keeps abreast of market trends in benefits and government regulations
  • Supports key ad-hoc deliverables as needed

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

This is a hybrid role that can sit at any of our hub locations (Plainsboro, Clayton, Boston, Lexington).

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate
  • Certification in a benefit related area (CEBS or CBP) or progress toward obtaining preferred
  • A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in HR or related industry with at least four years of Benefits experience
  • Previous administration experience with self-insured medical, 401(k) and/or short- and long-term disability plans preferred. Large corporation (1000+ employees) experience preferred
  • Must have a working understanding of regulations that pertain to employee benefits
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving required
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute and follow-up in a timely manner required. Proven ability to work across functional areas with all levels of stakeholders both locally and globally
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skill required
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet challenging and changing deadlines required
