Position

This job exists to drive digital transformation efforts and streamline data integration across solutions in the North American Finance Organization. The Finance Modeling Specialist plays a critical role in developing and maintaining financial models that support planning, forecasting, and performance analysis. This position ensures accuracy, reliability, and usability of models while fostering collaboration across Finance, IT, and operational teams.

 

Relationships

This individual will report to a Director in Finance & Supply Chain. Daily, the individual in this position will interact with stakeholders across the Finance organization with frequent interaction at the manager, senior manager and director level. Moreover, the job regularly interacts with IT and data management teams. From an external perspective the individual will likely interact with vendors in the digital space, e.g. analytics or developing consultants. In terms of global interaction this person will communicate with teams performing similar operations across the globe. The position does not have any direct reports, has no dotted line reporting to anyone, and will not manage any contingent workers.

    • Validate data inputs and model logic for accuracy and consistency
    • Perform quality checks and resolve discrepancies promptly

    • Build expertise within finance digital solutions and data infrastructure and provide technical guidance
    • Provide training and guidance to end users on model functionality. Gather feedback to improve usability and performance

    • Collaborate with IT and data experts across the organization to ensure our solutions adhere to best practices
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and adoption

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

This position is onsite in Plainsboro, NJ.

 

Qualifications

  • Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or similar
  • Experience Level: 2 years
  • Specific or technical job skills:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in driving digital transformation initiatives, process automation, data strategy implementation, data governance or similar
    • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Python, R, SQL or other software development
    • Data analysis skills and experience working with large data sets
    • Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage and data governance
    • Advanced Excel skills (experience in Anaplan is an advantage)
    • Technical understanding of finance processes is preferred
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Eager and willing to learn new systems and tools where any necessary training or certifications would be provided

The base compensation range for this position is $81,010 to $145,820. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. 

 

Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
