The Position

The purpose of the Finance Business Partner is to support evidence-based decision making through solid financial planning and analysis. This role involves managing the Anchor Budget (AB), Rolling Estimates (RE) and other financial planning processes, as well as analyzing and reporting to local and global management to ensure transparency in the organization's performance against short and long-term targets. As such, the Finance BP must ensure close collaboration with the respective commercial functions, strategic support teams in Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) as well as with global functions.

 

Relationships

This job reports to the Director of Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) Commercial Business Partners and requires regular interaction with LT level management of multiple functions, partnering closely with commercial finance to provide better analysis of commercial operations.

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage Financial Planning Processes
    • Oversee the preparation and management of Anchor Budget (AB) and Rolling Estimates (RE)
    • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the financial planning processes
    • Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary financial data
    • Implement improvements to streamline financial planning activities
  • Conduct Financial Analysis and Reporting
    • Analyze financial data to provide insights on organizational performance
    • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to local and global management
    • Ensure transparency in financial reporting to support decision-making
    • Identify trends and variances in financial performance and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide Business Partnering Support
    • Leverage data and business understanding to interact with management in a partnering capacity
    • Collaborate with local and global management to drive value creation for the company
    • Offer financial expertise and guidance on defined issues
    • Support strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis and recommendations
  • Perform Controlling and Compliance Activities
    • Conduct project controlling to ensure budget compliance
    • Monitor financial compliance across various parts of the company
    • Implement controls to safeguard the organization's financial integrity
    • Address complex financial tasks with few or no defined procedures in place
  • Solving Complex Financial Problems
    • Tackle complex financial issues by choosing between known alternatives
    • Apply expertise and knowledge to develop effective solutions
    • Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of solutions with minimal guidance
    • Ensure solutions align with organizational goals and regulatory standards

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required, with no international travel expected. There are no additional physical requirements for this position.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualification
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent education with 2+ years of experience required
  • General Qualifications
    • Demonstrate high subject matter knowledge in financial planning and analysis
    • Leverage data, business understanding, and interpersonal skills to interact with local/global management
    • Perform controlling of various parts of the company to ensure budget and financial compliance
    • Provide support on defined issues and contribute through application of expertise and knowledge
    • Handle complex tasks with few or no defined procedures in place
    • Solving problems through a choice between known alternatives within the area of expertise
    • Set directions and deliver results that have a direct impact within or outside the unit

    • Drive value creation for the company through effective financial planning and analysis

 

The base compensation range for this position is $83,400 to $150,200. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
