The Position
This job exists to drive digital transformation efforts and streamline data integration across solutions in the North American Finance Organization. The Finance BI Developer plays a critical role to design, build, and maintain Power Platform solutions, dashboards, and data models that support finance decision-making. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in data engineering and BI with strong user support and cross-functional collaboration skills to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality analytical solutions.
Relationships
This individual will report to a Director in Finance & Supply Chain. Daily, the individual in this position will interact with stakeholders across the Finance organization with frequent interaction at the manager, senior manager and director level. Moreover, the job regularly interacts with IT and data management teams. From an external perspective the individual will likely interact with vendors in the digital space, e.g. analytics or developing consultants. In terms of global interaction this person will communicate with teams performing similar operations across the globe. The position does not have any direct reports, has no dotted line reporting to anyone, and will not manage any contingent workers.

- Key Area #1
- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust data models, reports, and interactive dashboards with a UI/UX focus on the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) and related tools to meet finance business requirements
- Translate business requirements into scalable solutions, including star schemas, calculated measures, semantic models, and optimized queries
- Maintain deployment pipelines and version control to ensure smooth releases and reproducibility
- Key Area #2
- Validate data sources, ETL processes, and model logic to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reported metrics
- Implement and execute automated and manual quality assurance checks; identify, document, and remediate data discrepancies and logic errors promptly
- Ensure data lineage, provenance, and transformation logic are documented and transparent for auditability and traceability
- Key Area #3
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and training to end users on dashboard functionality, interpretation of metrics, and self-service capabilities
- Collect and analyze user feedback and usage patterns to prioritize enhancements, optimize performance, and improve usability
- Monitor solution performance and implement continuous improvements, including tuning queries, refining visuals, and reducing refresh times

- Work closely with IT, data engineering, finance stakeholders, and other business partners to align on requirements, data accessibility, and architecture best practices
- Communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders to convey insights, limitations, and recommended actions, fostering adoption and informed decision-making
- Ensure solutions adhere to internal governance, security, and compliance standards (data privacy, access controls, naming conventions)
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in BI, analytics, or data-focused roles
- At least 2 years’ hands-on experience driving digital transformation, process automation, data strategy implementation, or data governance initiatives
- Proven experience working with large datasets and delivering actionable analytical solutions for business stakeholders
- Technical Skills
- Experience building data models and reports in Power BI and working with Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate) preferred
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, advanced formulas, Power Query); experience with Anaplan is an advantage
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing concepts, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or similar) is a plus
- Knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M) is desirable
- Proficient in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data governance practices
- Domain Knowledge
- Technical understanding of finance processes and financial reporting preferred
- Experience supporting finance stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills across IT, data engineering, and business teams
- Problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail and quality assurance

The base compensation range for this position is $83,400 to $150,200. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
