The Position

The Evidence-Based Marketing Science Lead is responsible for leveraging data and analytics to drive customer engagement strategies rooted in evidence-based marketing science and contribute to the Novo Nordisk's success in a dynamic marketing landscape. This entails optimizing commercial performance and enhancing customer engagement through the application of advanced analytical methodologies and insights derived from marketing data across the cardiometabolic portfolio which includes diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and future therapeutic areas / disease states. The initial focus of this role will be in the support of the diabetes therapeutic area, specifically the upcoming Icodec launch.

 

Relationships

Reports to Commercial Excellence and Innovation. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including commercial analytics, and therapeutic area marketing leads, to integrate evidence-based marketing strategies into broader business initiatives.

 

Essential Functions

  • Evidence-Based Strategy Development: Lead the development of evidence-based marketing science strategies that aligns with NNI objectives. Utilize data and analytics to inform and shape marketing strategies for optimal commercial impact across therapeutic areas
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making within the marketing function. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into marketing planning and execution. Ensure common understanding of available data and reporting needs
  • Customer Segmentation and Targeting: Use advanced analytics to segment and target customer groups based on behavioral, demographic, and psychographic factors. Develop personalized, innovative marketing approaches to enhance engagement and drive increased customer value
  • Performance Optimization: Provides overarching view and perspective on the customer experience. Optimize commercial performance by identifying areas for improvement and recommending data-driven solutions. Conduct thorough analyses of marketing campaigns, channels, and initiatives to enhance overall effectiveness
  • Advanced Analytics Application: Apply advanced analytics methodologies, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analyses, to derive actionable insights. Explore innovative approaches to enhance marketing effectiveness through cutting-edge analytical techniques
  • Measurement and Reporting: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and measurement frameworks to assess the impact of evidence-based marketing strategies. Provides perspectives on best practices within the Icodec and other marketing teams across the organization

 

Physical Requirements

Approximately 20-30% overnight travel.

 

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in Marketing, Data Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or a related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience, including demonstrated history in evidence-based marketing science, with a proven track record of leveraging analytics for marketing engagement optimization
  • Strong knowledge of advanced analytics, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable and strategic marketing initiatives
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical industry/life science brand marketing strategy and planning; experience within diabetes preferred
  • Strategic Planning, Execution and follow-through skills required
  • Experience with establishing standards and KPI’s across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Proven track record of innovative market shaping accomplishments/high impact results (based on metrics/ROI)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to impact and influence and interact with senior business leaders and partners
  • Embodies leadership behaviors, including authenticity, servant leadership, will, empathy, decisiveness, and driving focus and simplicity
