The Position
The Director, Stakeholder Engagement (SE) is accountable for setting the strategic medical stakeholder engagement plan, for stakeholder groups and medical affairs activities as assigned, and execution of these plans for medical affairs. They are responsible for leading without authority to drive and deliver against key business goals, including establishing the NN medical presence with assigned stakeholders and supporting external medical/market development. Duties may include strategic stakeholder engagement plans for groups associations, congresses, partners, and other stakeholder groups relevant to medical affairs, excluding research partnerships. Stakeholder engagement is focused on increasing disease awareness, improve screening and diagnosis, and/or informing medical management.
Relationships
The position reports into Director, Strategic Partner Engagement, Medical Affairs. This role will require effective collaboration and coordination across external business partners, e.g., diagnostic companies, professional societies, as well as internal NNI and HQ teams, including but not limited to, MA professional association strategy, commercial, access and legal/compliance. The SE is also able to serve as proxy for the medical affairs leaders in broader strategic medical partnership governance.
Essential Functions
- Lead the development and execution of strategic engagement plans for relevant stakeholders as assigned
- Work closely with the TA-specific NNI and Global teams to co-create medically appropriate and patient-focused strategy for TA-relevant external medical stakeholder engagement
- Work directly with the Director, Medical Affairs Professional Association Strategy to ensure aligned planning and execution of projects and partnerships with key professional associations and societies
- Coordinate activities and initiatives with Medical Director team and field teams to ensure aligned planning and execution within all TA functions
- Lead the development and execution of the overall strategies and plans for scientific resources, communications and training initiatives for the TA team and relevant cross-functional/enterprise partners
- Drive a culture of patient focus, inclusiveness, respect, curiosity, entrepreneurism and role model the Novo Nordisk way
Physical Requirements
Up to 50% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
- A PharmD, PhD, MD or other advanced Health degree required
- Minimum of 7 years progressive pharmaceutical industry/relevant clinical/medical leadership experience required
- Proven track record of success, especially in the area of establishing and leading business-to-business partnerships and in stakeholder management in a matrix environment
The base compensation range for this position is $235,000 to $300,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
