The Strategy & Executive Office (SEO) organization is responsible for setting the short, mid, and long-term strategy for Novo Nordisk, Inc and ensures flawless execution of our key priorities. This encompasses long-term strategic planning, empowering and supporting leaders to successfully execute on strategic priorities, as well as driving and delivering high impact enterprise and business unit projects deemed critical to our future success. Furthermore, the Executive Office is responsible for supporting the President of NNI directly to ensure the pull through of priorities to set the direction for the entire organization.

 

The Position

The Director of US Operations Consulting will be an integral member of our consulting team, spending time focused on providing services in areas such as the following: business transformation, commercial operations, commercial strategy, market access, growth strategy, operating model optimization, technology implementation and enterprise transformation. The role will deliver high impact, enterprise projects that activate and accelerate the US Operations strategies. Projects can range across the full value chain in support of the top business priorities.

 

Relationships

Reports to the US Operations Consulting, Senior Director. Key stakeholders include: • US Operations Executive and Leadership Teams • Executive office team • US Operations Strategy team • Functional stakeholders (US and Global)

 

Essential Functions

  • Leads and successfully delivers large-scale and highly complex projects (high value and visibility, challenging issues, wide range of stakeholders)
  • Splits focus leading multiple projects – serving as the primary lead of 2 or more projects at a time, and supports other project(s) as a sparring partner / workstream owner
  • Drives discussions around problem-solving, with strong identification, structuring, and prioritization of issues
  • Prepares storylines for documents and excels at structured communication
  • Assumes full project management responsibility for large-scale projects with highly complex projects, including proactive issue escalation and resolution
  • Ensures the quality of team outputs, including accuracy, clarity, and messaging
  • Prepares project plans and scopes, with clear objectives, timeline and milestones, stakeholder identification, responsibilities
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior management
  • Provides expertise across the value chain and of consulting approaches/frameworks
  • Supports the Executive Office and Consulting Leadership Team to help set the team strategy and operational planning
  • Leads team capability building initiatives outside of project delivery
  • Flexible in terms of working under tight deadlines and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Attracts external management consulting talents through active participation in recruitment activities

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 10+ years of relevant experience. A Master’s and/or advanced degree preferably an MBA, can be substituted for up to 2 years of experience when appropriate
  • 4-6 years proven project management and/or consulting experience
  • Prior experience from tier 1 life science consultancies is highly beneficial but not a prerequisite
  • Understanding of general biopharma value chain and business processes (marketing, access, development, supply chain, etc.)
  • Experience working with consulting and financial frameworks and approaches
  • Experience and comfort working with top executives, with strong executive presence
  • Structured top-down written and oral communication, presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills to drive projects to completion
  • Strong analytical and visualization skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using PC tools (PowerPoint and Excel) is required
  • Strong language skills in English (written and orally)

 

The base compensation range for this position is $152,000 to $267,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
 
Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
