The Position

The purpose of this role is to deliver on business questions and big ideas that pan the enterprise.  The role will leverage analytics, insights and advanced methodologies within data science to improve the quality and speed of data derived insights. This role will bridge functional lines across the enterprise; overcome barriers and inherent silos to leverage data insights to address organizational requirements. Part of the need is to comprehensively grasp the unique challenges faced by different brands or functions i.e. understand the business context to deliver insightful data analysis and recommendations.

 

Relationships

This position will report the Director, Rapid Analytics. The role will work closely with Sr Manager, Integrated Analytics. The primary stakeholders will be teams across the enterprise i.e. FIES, CS&M, P&O etc. Extensive interaction will also be required with the Novo Nordisk Enterprise Insights (EI) and Enterprise Data and Advanced Analytics (EDAA) team members. Broader collaboration partners include finance, IT market access. medical, etc. as relevant business needs come up. External relationships stakeholders are contractors, secondary data vendors and IT experts as needed.

 

Essential Functions

  • Analysis
    • Deliver across descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics.
    • Maintains and develops analytic applications in environments such as Tableau, Dataiku, Excel, and/or other proprietary environments.
    • Utilize existing analytic tools including Python, R, Alteryx, etc. to derive insights from complex data sources.
    • Leverages internal data systems and tools to efficiently maintain data and reporting processes to minimize manual data updates.
    • Pioneer new ways to generate analytical insights through a deep understanding of existing data assets.
    • Implement AI/ML techniques as needed to enhance data analysis and predictive modeling.
    • Explore and apply GenAI as needed to create innovative data solutions
    • Identify gaps in current analytical pathways and recommend enhancements to better support business needs
    • Identify ways of better leveraging and combining insights across existing enterprise-wide data sources
    • Support efforts to explore untapped data sources internally and externally
    • Provide input for organizational priorities in data purchases
    • Explore new tools to gain greater efficiencies in deriving analytical insights
    • Partnering on qualitative and quantitative market research projects (i.e. prescriber, patient, payer data) to combine with analytics and support business questions
  • Collaboration
    • Develop close relationships with the FIES/EDAA leadership team stakeholders
    • Work seamlessly and closely collaborate with EI and EDAA team members
    • Effectively work with Data Strategy and IT to ensure data and technical resources are available for data exploration.
    • Collaborate closely with privacy and compliance to access data sets in a compliant manner
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between data teams and other business functions as needed
    • Democratize sharing of data and insights to the broader EI and EDAA community and ensure transparency of data and insights to all relevant stakeholders
  • Communication
    • Develop and deliver impactful presentations to key stakeholders and other leadership as needed
    • Clearly articulate data insights and analysis results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Share learnings across the broader FIES organization to support a unified business strategy
    • Create comprehensive documentation and reports to support data-driven decision-making

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor 's degree in Math, Science, Statistics, Computer Science or Engineering required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in analytics required; master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
  • Experience with statistical programming language required
  • Experience with BI tools is required (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI preferred)
  • Experience with IQVIA, Komodo, or Symphony and other secondary industry sources is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Knowledge or experience of AI/ML techniques such as clustering or classification
  • Creative problem solving; ability to organize/manipulate data and see big picture from scattered pieces of information
  • An innate curiosity is required
  • Strong writing, presentation, project management skills required
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in data analysis to support business processes
  • Handles business questions/analysis with high complexity
  • Positive and eagerness to learn, collaborate and partner with internal business colleagues
