The Position

The Associate Finance Business Partner is responsible for supporting the finance business part-nears to key non-commercial ET areas on financial management, investments, risks and opportunities. Further, will assist with driving key non-commercial projects including process improve-ments, standardization, and digitalization across Business Finance. Supports strategic partnering, financial planning and analysis to the assigned ET areas. The Associate FBP will assist the Busi-ness Finance team to support and challenge the various stakeholders across ET areas, in line with Novo Nordisk, Inc. (NNI) strategy, opportunities, and risks. The Associate FBP provides key support in liaising between Finance and other parts of NNI and must ensure close collaboration with all stakeholders including clear communication of financial performance. The Associate FBP is accountable for participating in multiple cross functional relationships and initiatives to support effective resource allocation and delivery of all functional and departmental milestones. The Associate FBP must have a mindset of continuous learning and improvement. The Associate FBP will support with recommendations and implementation of key process improvement. The Associate FBP supports with key projects on behalf of Business Finance towards the non-commercial areas but also internally in Business Finance to assist with further standardization, use of digitalization and implementation of best practices.

 

Relationships

Reports to the Director, Non-Commercial Business Partners & Cost Consolidation. Interacts with all levels of the business and partners heavily with assigned functional areas.

 

Essential Functions

  • Supports the finance business partners for assigned ET areas and assists with all parts of the assigned business to drive evidence-based decision making. Helps to ensure that strong financial management and processes are in place to capture opportunities and mitigate risks. Supports the business finance team with driving transparency and simplicity to empower the assigned area regarding budget, realization and potential investment options
  • Assists the finance business partners with routine communications on the financials for the assigned areas using appropriate metrics, analysis and reports
  • Supports the finance business partners with the assigned ET areas’ planning processes. Together with the finance business partners, business unit leaders and cross-functional teams must understand and incorporate trends, business risks and opportunities into the financials
  • Together with Non-Commercial finance team support the overall cost consolidation process, follow-up and reporting on realization on monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This includes close alignment, assist with challenging and supporting the input from both commercial and non-commercial areas to ensure solid financial analysis and forecasts at all times
  • On behalf of Finance & Supply Chain, supports key cross-functional projects related to the non-commercial areas as well as general business finance processes, standardization, use of digital tools etc. with the aim to enable more focus on business partnering for better short and long-term business performance. Collaborates close with commercial fi-nance function on general improvement opportunities and projects to the benefit of the business
  • Assists with driving Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency in relation to own and related business process. Supports with continuously evaluating opportunities to optimize in order to deliver the results in the most effective way. Assists the finance business partners with ensuringclose cross-functional collaboration, within NNI and towards the broader NN organization where relevant to ensure use of best practices for financial management, analysis and forecasting

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required, with no international travel expected. There are no additional physical requirements for this position.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Prior work experience (part-time or full-time) during undergraduate is preferred. Experience with finance or from the pharmaceutical industry, is an advantage
  • Strong willingness to learn about process management, optimization, and structured workflows with high level of proactivity, energy, and ability to support with projects. Must utilize time effectively and set priorities to assist with multiple projects with time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong eagerness to learn about stakeholder management, communication, and presen-tation skills with ability to influence stakeholders across the organization. Must be able to understand and define stakeholder needs and support with translating these needs into clear actions by also utilizing strong understanding of the market
  • Ambitious mindset with a continuous improvement approach and a desire to simplify the way we operate and generate new ideas. Support with condensing complicated data to key messages and recommendations
