This position can be based out of our Plainsboro, NJ or Lexington, MA location and follows all NNI guidance for remote/in office dedicated time. EST time-zone hours.

 

The Position

The Associate Director – Total Rewards Project Management NA will lead Total Rewards projects related to mergers & acquisitions (M&A), business development projects, legal entity changes, and harmonization activity for Total Rewards programs and processes.

 

Relationships

Reports to VP – Total Rewards North America. Partners across all areas of Total Rewards including global equity and mobility. Major stakeholders include P&O management team, Finance, and Corporate Business Development.

 

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize, and lead integrations related to Total Rewards programs to achieve project objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints
  • Provide due diligence support including but not limited to:
    • Complete Total Rewards side-by-side comparisions
    • Identify any potential engagement challenges and make recommendations
    • Help identify liabilities or cost implications
    • Help assess compliance with applicable benefit regulations
    • Review benefit contracts, policy expiration dates and termination provisions
  • Update and conduct benefits onboarding sessions
  • Assist with job leveling activity, fixed and variable compensation reviews
  • Partner with NA Total Rewards team to coordinate registrations with external vendors for various TR programs
  • Provide Total Rewards guidance and overall consultation on Novo Nordisk’s Total Rewards programs to HRBPs, Legal team, Talent COE, and Managers
  • Ensure alignment with Global Total Rewards leadership team and that process documents, policy documents, shared service documents and trainings are updated
  • Participate as the Total Rewards lead on cross-functional projects that cut across different job families, focusing on cross-functional optimization and harmonization projects
  • Support key decisions throughout the project, including milestones and scope changes
  • Develop project schedules, timelines, and milestones for each project to drive the project, ensuring clarity and order through proper planning and organizing
  • Apply essential project management tools and methods to ensure project success

 

Physical Requirements

Approximately 25-50% overnight travel.

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Certification in M&A principles, Compensation (CCP), Project Management (PMP), Global Remuneration (GRP) and/or Benefits (CBP) is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in HR, with at least 6+ years of progressive compensation and benefits experience and a comprehensive understanding of Total Rewards practices, programs and design
  • Requires 2+ years experience leading and managing legal entity integrations, mergers, or acquisitions with successful outcomes
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to compensation and benefits
  • Vendor management and program implementation experience
  • Proven experience as a project manager in mergers, acquisitions, and/or total rewards
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Facilitate decision making and issue resolution
  • Foundational expertise with job leveling, market pricing, and variable compensation
  • Foundational expertise with managing and implementing health, welfare, and retirement plans within North America
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven experience leading large scale change management initiatives with proven results
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes
