The Position
Responsible for driving key initiatives and projects with the overall objective of developing and improving the Enterprise Insights model, by improving transparency, capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration, while reducing complexity. Initially this is achieved by managing initiatives related to creation of insights, building organizational capabilities, promoting cross-functional collaboration and connecting across the organization. The role will be central in developing and driving a department roadmap for Enterprise Insights to enhance and optimize how the department engages with the organization and creates value for NNI. Additionally, the role is responsible for portfolio wide insights that span multiple BUs. The role is also responsible for proactively driving and creating performance presentations with senior stakeholder audiences (ET, ExecMan, BoD, GFB) and other relevant presentations. Additionally, this role will be accountable for continuing to develop the ongoing relationship with GBS.
Relationships
The Associate Director interacts regularly with the Enterprise Insights LT, Strategic Advisors across the business, and other key stakeholders. Other relationships include Executive Office, global functions, other MPS teams and HR. External relationships include consulting partners, data providers and market research partners.
Essential Functions
· Strategic Development
o Serve as Strategic Advisor for the Enterprise Insights (EI) organization within NNI
o Responsible for facilitating and leading all EI meetings, including weekly standups, LT meetings, extended leadership team meetings, and Town Halls
o Evolve and drive the strategic partnership with global GBS organization, with the intent to build additional capabilities and analytic capacity for NNI EI
o Create and oversee the EI departmental development strategy on an annual basis. Determine gaps and opportunities within the department and engage internal and external partners to create a curriculum for growth
o Lead the functional resource planning process across EI on an annual basis. Partner with finance and across all EI teams to create the plan, overseeing significant budget and resources
o As needed, project manage significant strategic EI initiatives including but not limited to the annual promotions cycle. Lead and support EI initiatives and special projects
o Develop innovative solutions to unstructured, complex problems; recommendations have significant impact on company (time, people, budget) resources and may affect ability to achieve company goals
· Executive Insights Support
o Lead the creation and coordination of executive level presentations across all of EI, including but not limited to: BRM, ET, Exec mgmt., ITC, and SLT as priority engagements. Includes facilitation in front of senior leaders as appropriate
o Develop market insights to inform commercial strategy, planned tactics and execution with an emphasis on cross portfolio insights
o Interpret and contextualize analytical findings within the framework of existing body of research and market trends
· Leadership and Development
o Champion the Triple Bottom Line in business analytics and internal strategy consulting
o Demonstrate creative simple approaches toward solving complex problems
o Coach or train junior level staff on analytical approaches, techniques, synthesized storytelling presentation development, business issue identification and methods for addressing, etc.
o Pro-actively seek process improvement opportunities by challenging existing processes, proposing solutions, and driving approved implementation plan
o Strive to develop and deploy innovative approaches and maintain awareness of 'best practices' across industries by maintaining a current familiarity with analytics and field business assessments
· Collaboration and Communication
o Manage timeline, ensure alignment and consistency in cross functional workstreams
o Act as EI representative to the MPS Operational Lead group
o Establish strategic business partner relationships with key stakeholders
o Manage wide range of stakeholders across the enterprise
o Facilitate workshops with strategic partners
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required
· 8+ years relevant experience
· 8+ years pharmaceutical experience, with direct experience managing sales insights & analytics responsibilities and driving engagement with commercial leadership stakeholders
· Experience operating in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high quality insights & analytics
· Strong communication abilities, and ability to create clear and simple presentations in high quality
· Strong ability to condense complicated data into a simple message or format
· Experience interacting with and influencing senior level leadership within an organization
· Experience as a Project Leader responsible for complex project where input and alignment are needed across multiple stakeholders including VP level or above
· Experience with pharmaceutical data, specifically Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, DDD and LAAD data is required
· Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably
· Excellent administrative, organizational, project management and analytical skills
· Experience managing project budgets and resources
· Customer focused with excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels within organization
· Quantitative analytics skills
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
The base compensation range for this position is $148,290to $ 259,510. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
