The Position

This position is responsible for providing insights and analytical support for contracting events across full Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI)/NNPI portfolio and ensuring Quality Control (QC) of pricing/contracting inputs for the gross-to-net sales forecast (Anchor Budget & Rolling Estimate) and company growth outlook for the near and mid-term period (MTP). This includes various scenario modeling for major payer/pricing events budget cycles and serving as the subject matter expert for LTF pricing and contracting workstreams. Additionally, this position will be the central point for Market Access (MA) account teams on contract performance and identifying opportunities for execution. This includes contributions to post-deal analytics, new product pricing, and strategic pricing projects for all customer segments (e.g., Managed Care, Non-Federal Hospitals, Long-Term Care, Medicare Part D, Medicaid (FFS & MM), Exchanges and Federal), including Diabetes, Biopharmaceutical and hormone therapy products.

 

Relationships

The position reports directly to an Associate Director, Pricing Insights & Strategic Planning in Pricing, Contracting, Operations and Reimbursement (PCOR) and provides analytical support to other Managers within Pricing & Market Access Insights. Provides periodic analysis to the Managers within Strategic Pricing. The position will interact with a number of internal stakeholders including Strategic Pricing and Contracting, Rebate Management, Commercial Effectiveness, Government Pricing, Managed Market Strategy and Innovation and the Managed Market Sales Account Executives.

 

Essential Functions

  • Supports business needs with the development of tools and methods to support contracting events for budget cycles
  • Develops scenarios for major payer/pricing events for net sales forecast budget cycles
  • Works closely/develops strong relationships with key stakeholders (Strategic Pricing & Contracting, Government Pricing, Rebate Operations, Market Access Public Affairs, Commercial Effectiveness)
  • Supports Long-Term-Forecast pricing and contracting workstreams and serves as SME
  • Drives organizational awareness and understanding of NNI contracting investments (i.e., insulin, GLP-1, BioPharm, Obesity)
  • Supports project developments to identify opportunities for further revenue capture
  • Serves as central point of contact for Market Access account teams on contract performance and identifying opportunities for execution
  • Provides expertise on HQ/Executive BRM deliverables
  • Develops trackers and performance metrics that monitor performance at a customer and channel level
  • Provides ad-hoc analyses as required
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of methodologies by measuring forecast versus actuals
  • Works with 3rd party pricing vendors, Master Data, Contracts Operations, Finance, Trade and Pricing Services to implement and disseminate pricing changes
  • Supports in developing content and storyline for budget cycle meetings
  • Supports new analytic/insights workstreams as required
  • Ensures all Pricing processes and procedures are compliant with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Supports Director, Pricing & MA Insights in preparing legal material
  • Responsible for 340B analytics and insights
  • Provides integrated analyses and insights for customers and other business groups (e.g., customer segment reports and trend reports for internal Finance, Sales and Marketing management)

 

Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate. A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the areas of pricing, contracting, forecasting, and financial modeling required. Graduate Degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years of experience, when appropriate
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Access, Visual Basic PowerPoint and other key platforms
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to execute analysis in support of decision-making and planning
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to ensure quality and validity of data and resolve data problems as necessary
  • Ability to perform advanced analyses (analytical, quantitative, and qualitative) required. Strong attention to detail
