The Position

The Agile Marketing Scrum Master/Coach plays a crucial role in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing agile teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of agile projects within Commercial Strategy & Marketing (CS&M). The role will use their strong background in marketing operations, coupled with expertise in Agile methodologies and tools. This role will play a key part in driving efficiency, collaboration, and innovation within CS&M HCP and Consumer Experience Teams. Acting as a scrum master, this role fosters a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, ensuring the squad delivers high-quality outcomes aligned with business goals.

 

Relationships

Reports to Agile Marketing Excellence Lead. Collaborates closely with Consumer & HCP Experience leads within marketing to gather requirements and understand agile tool business needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization using Agile methodologies and tools.

 

Essential Functions

  • Agile Marketing Strategy: Develop a comprehensive strategy for selecting, implementing, and optimizing Agile tools tailored specifically to the needs of the marketing department
  • Tool Selection and Implementation: Evaluate and select Agile tools that align with marketing processes and objectives. Lead the implementation process, ensuring seamless integration and adoption across marketing teams
  • Customization and Configuration: Customize Agile tools to fit the unique workflows and requirements of marketing campaigns, projects, and initiatives
  • Tool Training and Enablement: Provide training and support to marketing teams on how to effectively use Agile tools to manage projects, track progress, and improve collaboration
  • Change Management & Agent: Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption and utilization of Agile tools, driving cultural change and fostering a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder Communication & Influence: Gaining buy-in for Agile processes and tools from different levels of the organization, and being able to influence without authority
  • Scrum Ceremony Facilitation: Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure effective collaboration, communication, and alignment within agile teams. Guide teams in refining agile practices and ceremonies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Project Planning and Execution: Work closely with CS&M leadership and stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment with business goals. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and create actionable project plans and roadmaps. Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and identify and address issues and risks to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve challenges, keeping the HCP/consumer squads on track and adapting to changing priorities
  • Metrics and Reporting: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish reporting mechanisms to track the effectiveness and ROI of Agile tool usage in marketing operations
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization using Agile methodologies and tools. Work with teams to implement solutions and drive continuous optimization of project delivery

 

Physical Requirements

Approximately 0-20% overnight travel.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) required
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing operations, project management, agile scrum, or related roles required
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, frameworks, and experience with Agile tools such as Miro, Workfront, Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar
  • Experience leading the implementation and optimization of Agile tools within a marketing or similar environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive data-driven decisions
  • Proven track record of driving process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Certification and proven expertise in Agile methodologies (e.g. Certified Scrum Master) is a plus
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects
